Job Description: 

Job Summary

We are looking for a Full-stack Specialist, responsible for the development and maintenance of in-house applications. You will be working alongside and managing other Engineers and Developers working on different layers of the Applications.  Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products is essential.

Key Responsibilities

•    Design and maintain backend services using Java 17 or 21 or above, and Spring Boot.        
•    Develop REST and SOAP APIs.            
•    Ensure efficient database connectivity using ORM frameworks.            
•    Develop and maintain messaging services with JMS, MQ, Kafka and Solace.            
•    Experience with Java frameworks like Spring, Struts, and Enterprise JavaBeans is a plus.            
•    Ensure seamless API connectivity using gateways like Kong or Axway.            
•    Manage dependencies and build processes with Apache Maven.            
•    Containerize applications with Docker for consistent deployment.            
•    Adhere to coding standards, perform code reviews, and refactor code as needed.            
•    Ensure code meets security standards with no high/critical vulnerabilities.            
•    Optimize code to meet performance standards.            
•    Use Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and project management.            
•    Deploy and manage applications on OCP, AWS EKS or SKE.            
•    Write and maintain unit tests with JUnit.            
•    Document APIs using Swagger.            
•    Select and implement resilient technology stacks and architectural patterns.            
•    Continuously improve Agile practices and coach the team.        
•    Implement scalable and maintainable microservices architecture.        
•    Collaborate with product managers and tech leads to meet requirements and objectives.        

•    Lead and participate in system changes, ensuring efficient project delivery and quality.    
•    Implement service virtualization for testing and development.    
•    Conduct integration testing for seamless component interaction.    
•    Collaborate with various technology teams and stakeholders.    
•    Oversee functional standards and provide technical assistance to team members.    
•    Act as a conduit for domain strategy and technical standards.    
•    Prioritize and manage technical debt.    
•    Allocate resources effectively between leadership and development tasks.    
•    Shape and drive the bank-wide engineering strategy.    
•    Collaborate with UX/UI designers, front-end developers, and back-end engineers for integrated solutions.

Qualifications

•    Minimum 11 years of development experience with development using Java (JDK 17 or above) and Spring/SpringBoot, familiar with modern IDEs (IntelliJ, Eclipse, VSCode), with at least 5 years in technical leadership or architecture roles.
•    Good experience in developing SOAP/REST APIs, understand API Gateway, be able to write API specifications using popular format like Swagger.
•    Good understanding on Microservice Architecture, Containers/Dockers, Kubernetes and Helm Chart (e.g. OCP or AWS EKS or Azure AKS)
•    Sufficient knowledge on information security including SSL/TLS, mTLS, OAuth2, Encryption & Signing, Tokenization, be able to find out and fix application vulnerabilities.
•    Proficient understanding of code versioning and CI/CD tools like Git, Maven, Jenkins, Ansible. It's an advantage if knowledge on ADO (Azure DevOps) 
•    Experience with SQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc. and ability to write complex SQL queries, ORM frameworks (JPA, Hibernate), Stored Procedure, DB performance tuning.
•    Experience in Messaging platforms, such as RabitMQ, ActiveMQ, IBM MQ, Solace, AWS SQS, Kafka, Amazon Kinesis, or Azure Event Hub,
•    Cloud knowledge in common cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP. Able to utilize IaaS/PaaS cloud services for development.
•    Fluent in English oral and written communications, be able to drive daily standup meetings. 
•    Basic project management skills, experience in Agile methodology like DevOps, TDD/BDD, SCRUM
•    Bachelor’s degree or above.
•    Advanced knowledge in using AI tools for development (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor Composer, Gemini Code Assist, use or develop skills, MCP, etc..)
