Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Client Onboarding Specialist to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering a seamless client onboarding experience by reviewing account opening documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting the successful setup of new client relationships.

Working closely with Relationship Managers, Client Service Managers, Business Development Managers, Compliance, and Operations teams, you will ensure all customer due diligence (CDD), anti-money laundering (AML), and account opening requirements are completed accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

  • Review account opening documentation, customer identification documents, source of wealth information, search results, and supporting materials to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform customer due diligence (CDD) activities and create CDD records for new clients.
  • Verify and maintain accurate client data within onboarding systems, ensuring consistency between supporting documentation and internal records.
  • Support Relationship Managers and Front Office teams by providing guidance on account opening requirements and documentation standards.
  • Ensure the accurate handover and safekeeping of client onboarding documentation and records.
  • Identify documentation deficiencies, escalate risks, and support the resolution of onboarding issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and report recurring process errors, recommending improvements to enhance operational efficiency and client experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of communications, onboarding activities, and management information (MI) trackers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple functions and locations to facilitate efficient onboarding processes.
  • Adhere to agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and turnaround times for onboarding activities.
  • Participate in training initiatives and continuously build knowledge of AML, sanctions, financial crime prevention, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identify and escalate compliance, conduct, operational, or regulatory concerns where appropriate.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying procedural gaps and recommending practical solutions.

 

Skills and Experience

Essential Experience

  • Experience in client onboarding, account opening, KYC/CDD, AML, compliance operations, financial crime prevention, or banking operations.
  • Knowledge of customer due diligence requirements and account onboarding processes.
  • Understanding of AML, sanctions, financial crime, and regulatory compliance principles.
  • Experience reviewing and validating documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a regulated environment.
