Title: Associate Director - Transaction Banking Sales

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
Responsible to define strategy as applicable for Transaction Banking Sales and operationalize same, being aware and understanding of the Group’s business strategy from a CIB client segment and Transaction Banking products perspective as applicable for the role.
Business
Responsible to identify potential opportunities to grow Transaction Banking business within the CIB client segment. Fully understand the bank’s product and channel capabilities to provide solutions appropriate to requirements of CIB clients, being aware and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment. Identify, execute and deliver on the key strategic initiatives in accordance to the TB sales strategy. Drive TB revenue, liability and asset & contingent growth, product depth, cross-sell and returns
Processes
Responsible to identify and recommend appropriate changes to streamline transaction journeys of CIB clients, being aware and understanding of the bank’s processes relevant for the job role.
People and Talent
Lead through example and build an appropriate sales and service culture within CIB. Engage with stakeholders to strengthen existing and build new professional relationships at every single interaction aligned to SCB values.
Set clear and challenging objectives for individual team member while ensuring that the overall business objectives are met.
Coaching, guidance and management of team to ensure they deliver against financial and non-financial objectives.
Identifying and addressing issues/opportunities for the performance improvement across the team.
Share best practices and client trends
Risk Management
Proactively identify risks associated with the Transaction Banking business and contribute to introduce appropriate mitigants, being aware and understanding of the bank’s risk appetite, controls in place.
Governance
Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the bank operates, regulatory requirements, expectations relevant to the role.
Manage all TB sales risk, conform to business standards, improve risk metrics and ensure no adverse audit findings.
Ensure all processes across TB Sales are followed in line with approved policies and procedures.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Lead the Sri Lanka/CIB/Transaction Banking Sales team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key Stakeholders
CIB Clients, Relationship Managers, Client Coverage Management, Operations teams, Implementation, CRC, Credit, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Financial Markets, Regulators, Local and Regional support teams.
Other Responsibilities
• Understand client requirements, identify opportunities to add value using products and services offered by the bank, deliver solutions priced appropriately. Continuously, engage to oversee delivery and seek replacements.
Qualifications
• Internal training on product and channel capability. Engage with clients, Chamber of Commerce, and similar forums to build a personal brand and a reputation as a trusted advisor and Transaction Banking expert.
