Title: Officer Credit Risk Management

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Non-regulated role. Responsible to assist in risk management of Retail Products by providing meaningful information on external and internal drivers, key portfolio highlights, performance and trend
Strategy
• Ensure compliance of Group Policy, Underwriting Standards and Business strategy for the portfolio. Credit underwriting and maintain superior portfolio quality
• Initiate, introduce to ways to minimize operational cost of the unit and department as a whole.
• To assist in risk management of Retail Products by providing meaningful information on external and internal drivers, key portfolio highlights, performance and trends.
Business
• Support the Manager WRB Clients in managing an optimum balance between supporting business growth and maintaining high quality assets portfolio.
• Actively involved in cross- product learning and share expertise on WM Lending trainings with underwriters/Bussnies.
• Continuously improve the way we work by driving cost effectiveness and automation of credit processes while ensuring high quality of deliverables.
Processes
• Review/underwrite WRB products applications for Wealth Management Clients to meeting local / group standards in a timely manner as per credit delegated authority and support applications, which require approval above own discretion within agreed time frames.
• Effectively manage the MIS & reporting responsibility through
• Effective data management and infrastructure maintenance, including effective processes for validation of data and accuracy of reports generated.
• Ensuring completeness and timeliness of MIS being reported to in-country teams, Group Risk, Business finance and all other internal stakeholders.
• Ensuring completeness and timeliness of MIS being reported to external stakeholders including Auditors and regulators.
• Ensuring optimization through centralization, off-shoring and use of automation in generating standardized decks.
People and Talent
• Knowledge in areas related to WM Lending and an understanding of Retail Banking products, procedures, and credit policies,
• Training methodology and practice.
• Sound knowledge of country information/ key statistics and be able to collate and apply data
Risk Management
• Thorough knowledge in areas related to Secured Lending and an understanding of Wealth Management products, procedures and credit policies.
• Timely and accurate output/service to support good portfolio growth and optimized risk return decisions
• To assist in risk management of Retail Products by providing meaningful information on external and internal drivers, key portfolio highlights, performance and trends.
Governance
• Pro-active engagement with business for strategy development and with Credit Initiation Unit / Collections for strategy execution/ feedback.
• Ensure proper functioning of day-to-day controls, periodic monitoring activities and timely resolution of risk issues.
Key Stakeholders
• Internal Customers - Locally the internal customers would be other departments like Product Management, Sales, CIU, SME Credit, Security Services, Collections, Operations and L&C. Also there will be interactions with Portfolio Management Group in Singapore. Interaction with these departments for joint initiatives and key business deliverables.
• External Customers - Bank’s/ customers for feedback/complaints, regulators/ group office / auditors for reporting/ discussion/ feedback, etc.
Qualifications
• Good communication and analytical skills
• Should be able to work with different and diverse teams well
• Time management, ability to priorities tasks and adherence to deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
• Proficiency in MS Office Excel & MS Office Power Point is essential
