Job Summary

The Cash Product Manager will play a vital role in leading the strategic direction and operational management of Cash, Trade, and Working Capital products at Standard Chartered . This role requires a proactive and visionary leader who can align product development and enhancement initiatives with the bank's broader Transaction Banking goals, ensuring delivery of outstanding value to our diverse client base.This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of our banking services in a dynamic market, helping to shape product offerings that meet evolving customer needs and regulatory requirements while fostering long-term business sustainability and client satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement clear, strategic product objectives for Cash, Trade, and Working Capital lines that align with global banking strategies, while closely monitoring financial performance and key non-financial metrics to ensure comprehensive product excellence and competitive positioning.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis of customer behaviours, competitor products, and industry trends, utilizing these insights to continuously refine product strategies, identify emerging opportunities, and proactively address potential challenges.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation and systematic review of all product-related processes, workflows, and governance structures, ensuring full compliance with evolving market requirements and regulatory standards, thereby promoting transparency and operational integrity.
  • Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management, including strategic planning, risk management, commercialisation efforts, and decommissioning protocols, with emphasis on maintaining simplicity, robustness, and scalability throughout governance practices.
  • Foster a culture of client-focused innovation by promoting agile methodologies and co-creation initiatives, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop compelling market propositions and enhance the bank’s brand equity.
  • Oversee product profitability by strategically optimising revenue streams and managing operational costs and investments, ensuring sustainable returns on equity and long-term financial viability.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategic plans that integrate a detailed understanding of client needs and industry developments, designing technological ecosystems and operational frameworks to support timely product launches and efficient market adoption.
  • Drive cross-functional partnerships to implement process improvements, leveraging advancements in technology and operational efficiencies to deliver superior client experiences, enhance service quality, and reduce costs.
  • Manage product budgets with accountability for revenue growth, client acquisition and retention, liability gathering, and operational expense controls to meet and exceed established performance objectives.

Skills and Experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of banking products, systems, and regulatory frameworks pertinent to Cash Management, Trade Finance, and Working Capital solutions.
  • Proficiency in managing product lifecycles, conducting market analyses, implementing risk mitigation strategies, and monitoring financial and operational performance metrics.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, both verbal and written, ensuring clarity in documentation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience in product management within banking or financial services, particularly relating to Transaction Banking or Cash Management products, will be highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies that drive product success.
  • Demonstrable aptitude for cross-functional collaboration and leadership, promoting inclusivity and fostering team synergy to achieve shared objectives.
  • A commitment to ethical practices and compliance, alongside a proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development, will support success in this role.

 

Qualifications

  • A relevant university degree or equivalent professional qualification in finance, business administration or related disciplines.
