Job Summary

Embedding principles of the Operational Risk Management and Assurance frame work. This would involve the Responsible person ( RP )

Key Responsibilities

Embedding principles of the Operational Risk Management and Assurance framework. This would involve the Responsible person (RP):

Busines
•    To undertake periodic self- assessment on key controls to assess the proper functioning and adequacy of existing controls and ensure maintenance of robust controls and monitoring actions.
•    Assist in coordinating, Facilitating and promoting understanding of operational risk & in implementation and management of OR within the unit, Act as OR coordinator for the section,

Processes 
•    To report unit’s OR issue and losses to UORM
•    To assist UORM in developing & updating of procedures, controls & monitoring plans for operational Risk Management,
•    To adhere to the agreed KCSA plans and approach and insure no overdue KCSA
•    To identify & report all exceptions on non-compliance with standard controls 
•    To identify & report all weaknesses in herent in the Standard controls
•    To maintain proper records keeping on all KCSA related activities
•    To maintain independence in the conduct of KCSA, i.e. not selecting & reviewing sample of self-performed transactions.
•    To ensure satisfactory compliance reviews & audits on the conduct of KCSA & record keeping
•    To act as a backup RP for another RP if required
•    To act as a backup for the UORM if required

•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Qualifications

•    Graduate/ PostGraduate
•    At least 7-8 years of overall experience with sound banking knowledge- all aspects of general banking, retail operations and credit operations / deposit and lending products / inspection and audit requirements, as applicable.
•     Leadership skills, communication skills, relationship building skills, competitive awareness & benchmarking
