Job Summary

•    Partner with Treasury Sales, Relationship Managers, Product, Legal, Compliance and Operations to structure and review client solutions within applicable FEMA and RBI requirements.
•    Translate complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance for client-facing teams and scalable advisory playbooks.
•    Strengthen first-line governance by documenting regulatory rationale, escalation triggers, required approvals and transaction conditions.

Key Responsibilities

FEMA and Capital Account Advisory
•    Provide advice on ODI, OPI, FDI, ECB, LRS, non-resident banking, export/import realisation, share transfers, inter-company loans, guarantees and cross-border remittances.
•    Assess transaction permissibility, documentation, reporting requirements and execution path in partnership with payments team.
•    Prepare concise advisory notes, transaction feasibility views and escalation summaries for internal and client discussions.

Client and Business Enablement
•    Support SME, Retail and Wealth teams in client meetings involving FEMA, FX and cross-border transaction themes.
•    Identify advisory-led opportunities across permitted foreign exchange flows, capital account transactions and treasury use cases.
•    Conduct client clinics, webinars and internal enablement sessions for priority segments.

Governance, Risk and Conduct
•    Ensure regulatory requirements are observed in letter and spirit across advisory and transaction support activities.
•    Identify, escalate and help mitigate regulatory, conduct, operational, AML and sanctions risks.
•    Maintain trackers for advisory cases, regulatory updates & approvals, key risks and follow-up actions.

Qualifications

•    8 to 15 years of relevant experience in FEMA advisory, banking, treasury, Big 4 consulting, leading law firms, FEMA consulting or cross-border transaction advisory.
•    Strong working knowledge of FEMA, RBI master directions, ODI Regulations, OPI, FDI Policy, ECB framework, LRS, non-resident banking and current/capital account rules.
•    Experience supporting client-facing teams and preparing advisory notes, governance summaries and transaction feasibility views.
•    CA / CS / CFA / MBA Finance preferred.
•    LLB desirable for candidates with strong regulatory advisory background.
•    Any relevant certification in FEMA, international trade, treasury, compliance or financial regulation will add value.
•    English: Expert.
•    Hindi or relevant local Indian language: preferred for client engagement.
•    Ability to draft clear internal and client-facing regulatory communication.
