JOB SUMMARY

Overarching Role Responsibilities include:

  • Assist Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing (HoCABM) (Brand Champion) in the country by ensuring compliance with all Brand and Communications guidelines – ensure all internal and external campaigns have business focus and are fully aligned to Bank’s strategic priorities and overarching brand, business, and sustainability narratives. 
  • Implement a full range of communications strategies – including corporate, business, and crisis communication – to enhance the Bank’s reputation and brand. 
  • Drive Bank’s award applications to maximize brand value. 
  • Support the Bank’s sustainability agenda through planning and executing assigned initiatives.
  • Draft content for internal and external communications, including (but not limited to) press release, social media posts and speeches. 
  • Assist the Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing (CABM) team for periodic reporting requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  • Be a key contributor to the annual strategic marketing planning exercise in conjunction with the business and Region/Group CABM team to ensure key deliverables are met. 
  • Collaborate with appropriate actors to deliver quality and innovative media and regulatory stakeholder engagements – on plan, on budget, and on time. 

Business
External Communications:

  • Drive execution of Thought Leadership opportunities, to position the Bank as the most advanced banking institution in the country, that is introducing world-class financial solutions in the country. 
  • Amplify the Bank’s Brand and initiatives through optimum use of multiple and innovative communications channels. 
  • Focus on proper and consistent utilization of digital channels. Leverage social media and other digital media channels to drive engagement and to interact with external stakeholders. 
     

Internal Communications:

  • Help internal stakeholders with social and digital media interactions. 
  • Work with appropriate team members to organize and disseminate internal communications broadcasts, updates, and information focusing on structuring and circulating the weekly internal newsletter. 
  • Drive awareness and facilitate execution around the Stands through release of internal communications via the appropriate channels. 
  • Ensure that all internal communications help to drive staff engagement consistently and in a way that boosts the image of the Bank. 
  • Support the CEO and senior executives of the Bank in various media engagements in terms of speaking points, media FAQs, and media handling. 
  • Work closely with the other functions to align messages amongst different internal stakeholders.  
  • Manage executive visit and implement large scale employee events. 

Processes

  • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend ways to increase functional and operational effectiveness.
  • Work with Supply Chain Management, and Legal and Compliance teams to effectively manage external stakeholders (e.g., vendors, agencies), and supplier panels, partnership agreements, and monitoring.
  • Support, uphold and embody global standards for communications strategy and planning, which constitutes a key aspect of overall CABM processes.

Risk Management

  • Where applicable, ensure credit, operational, legal, regulatory, reputation, compliance are held to the highest standards of risk management (at a product and enterprise level as relevant).
     

Governance

  • Ensure strict compliance with all internal and external communications and communications-adjacent policies and procedures.
  • Maintain timely reporting for all governance related issues, and make sure all processes are carried out accurately and appropriately.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Ensure that Group and regulatory expectations are effectively communicated and met.

Qualification

  • Education     Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, media or arts 
  • Training     Minimum 3 years work experience in similar role
  • Languages     English (native proficiency); Bengali (spoken proficiency)
