JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will support the Country Markets Head and Cluster COO  in executing Markets Bangladesh strategy, implementing business initiatives, helping ensure adherence to regulations and policies and provide risk, governance & business management related support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy
•    Support Country Markets & Business Heads to implement the local Markets strategy and business initiatives.
•    Be the “connector” between global and local Markets & COO stakeholders.

Business
•    Help enable business by project managing initiatives & driving governance requirements on new products/business opportunities in collaboration with control & support functions.
•    Partner with local support functions and stakeholders to unblock any business issues.
•    Support the Markets Country Head in running of the Business Risk Forums (BRFs).
•    Provide business support on dealing room management, e.g., capacity planning, business continuity, access controls, Service Level Agreements, licensing, etc.
•    Business budgeting and forecasting requirements for businesses.
•    Helping business in driving and management of a prudent cost culture.
•    Periodic & adhoc presentations, MIS and analytics as required by Country Markets Head

Processes
•    Assist Markets Head in effective supervision of Markets, Treasury Markets and Wealth Management Product Sales (WMPS) staff in the dealing room, where applicable.
•    Support dealing room staff in adhering to internal and external processes and procedures and governance practices.
•    Support the Markets Country Head in supervising and coordinating in-country audits.
•    Work on process simplification and re-engineering opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

Risk Management
•    Identify, assess and mitigate operational risks in-country.
•    Execute controls, monitor, report and escalate operational risks where appropriate.

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Collaborate with Compliance, Financial Crime & Conduct Risk (CFCR) and other stakeholders on local regulations to assess impact and manage any changes to business processes and infrastructure.

•    Support the Markets Head & CFCR in regulatory inspections, business submissions and advocacy initiatives
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
•    Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles

Qualification
•    Education     Bachelor’s Degree or post graduate with minimum 5-8 years of experience
