Job Summary
As the Executive Director and Head of Bangladesh FI (Financial Institutions) Sales, you will spearhead the team's efforts in achieving substantial revenue growth across cash and trade banking segments. This leadership role demands a strategic thinker and a proactive manager who will steer the team toward defined objectives while championing innovation within the market. You will collaborate extensively with internal stakeholders such as Relationship Managers and Product teams to ensure a seamless and client-centric service delivery that reinforces Standard Chartered's reputation as a premier financial partner. Your contributions will be pivotal in expanding market share, strengthening client networks, and fostering a dynamic sales environment responsive to evolving customer needs.
This position is based in Dhaka and offers a full-time, office-based working style, providing ample opportunity to engage directly with clients and colleagues to create impactful financial solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development and Execution
You will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive sales strategies focused on transaction banking products tailored to your client portfolio. This includes identifying growth opportunities and pioneering innovative financial solutions that align with market trends and client expectations.
Business Growth and Market Leadership
Achieving and surpassing revenue targets for the Financial Institutions Sales segment within Bangladesh Bank stands at the core of this role. You will proactively work to increase and maintain market share, positioning Bangladesh as a leader in this field. This involves close partnership with coverage teams to set and pursue client-specific revenue and engagement goals, alongside direct client interactions to reinforce relationship strategies.
Operational Excellence and Client Service
Managing Transaction Banking relationships across all products requires meticulous attention to detail and proactive client engagement. You will oversee RFP and deal processes, ensuring customized solutions are optimally presented and executed. Collaboration with sales, product management, and operations teams is essential to deliver superior service, facilitating smooth deal implementation and adherence to quality standards.
Market Intelligence and Product Innovation
Providing insightful feedback to Product Management based on customer needs, market developments, and product trends is critical. You will contribute to the conceptualization and roll-out of new initiatives, ensuring Standard Chartered remains competitive and client-focused. Organizing market events to share best practices and enhance the bank's visibility within the sector also forms a key part of the responsibilities.
People & Talent
• Manage, mentor and guide the team to help them achieve the targets set
• Provide senior coverage to the team while dealing with clients
• Provide a roadmap for the team’s career progression
• Ensure that the team is well aware of the compliance requirements for the business and for their individual responsibilities so that there is no breach
• Guide the service team to ensure best in class service is provided to the client
Risk Management
• Ensure adherence to risk management framework in identifying, controlling, monitoring and reporting of risk.
• Ensure sufficient actions are undertaken to mitigate, reduce and contain the identified operational risks.
• Undertake and/ or coordinate periodic business monitoring activities, escalating issues to the segment head.
• Work in conjunction with TBSM’s and FI to engage the client for successful closure of all RFI’s.
• Ensure adherence to all FCC policies.
• While ownership rests with Coverage team, facilitate the obtain documentation for any escalation cases.
• Training to clients to ensure that they understand our risk and compliance requirements

• Adherence to laws and regulations, internal risk and compliance policies and the Group Code of Conduct.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Skills and Experience
Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience in banking, coverage, FI
The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in sales proposal development and client presentations, showcasing the ability to communicate complex financial solutions persuasively. Strong client relationship management skills are imperative to foster long-lasting partnerships and trust.
Proficient cross-selling capabilities will enable the identification and capitalization of opportunities across product lines. Strategic sales planning acumen is necessary to align team efforts with broader market trends and business objectives.
A solid understanding of cash management and trade finance products will empower the candidate to offer innovative, tailored solutions that address clients' varied requirements effectively.
