Job Summary
As an Officer in Regulatory Reporting within the WRB Operations team at Standard Chartered, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Your primary focus will be on the preparation and timely submission of comprehensive regulatory reports related to Loans, Credit Cards, and Liability accounts. The role demands responsiveness to daily regulatory queries and proactive engagement with regulators through scheduled visits to address various issues.
This role combines detailed regulatory knowledge with excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, requiring a high degree of organisation and the ability to work under pressure to meet stringent regulatory deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and timely submission of comprehensive regulatory reports related to Loans, Credit Cards, and Liability accounts.
- Collaborate closely with multiple internal stakeholders across branches, CFCR, Tax, Finance, and other relevant units to manage and resolve regulatory orders efficiently.
- Lead and support system-related changes by coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and User Verification Testing (UVT) alongside implementation teams and external vendors.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, guidelines, and the local regulatory framework is fundamental, as is managing the unclaimed account maintenance process, including claim settlements, communications with the central bank, as well as periodic reporting and reconciliation tasks.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage effectively with WRB Business units and various operational teams to ensure regulatory reporting and compliance objectives are met seamlessly.
- Maintain strong working relationships with regulators by facilitating visits and promptly addressing inquiries.
Process and Systems Management
- Lead and coordinate system update initiatives and testing cycles (UAT/UVT) with the implementation teams and external vendors to ensure system changes meet regulatory requirements.
- Manage the unclaimed account maintenance processes, including claim settlements, communications with the central bank, and comprehensive reporting and reconciliation activities.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Comprehensive knowledge of country-specific regulations concerning Credit Card products, with an ability to interpret and apply the Banking Companies Act effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling clear and concise interaction with regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, particularly in MS Office applications, enabling efficient data handling, reporting, and documentation.
- Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple regulatory reporting deadlines and coordinate diverse stakeholder inputs.
- Experience in a banking or financial services environment dealing with regulatory compliance and reporting will be an advantage.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a recognised and reputable university, preferably with a background in CSE or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience within financial regulatory reporting or compliance functions
- Experience in working with Python, Power BI, C+ etc. will be added advantage
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to engage effectively with regulators, colleagues, and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, taking initiative and making informed decisions independently when required.
- Capacity to thrive under pressure by meeting tight regulatory deadlines while maintaining accuracy and compliance standards.
- Proficient in computer applications, especially MS Office suite, including Excel for analytical and reporting purposes.
