Job Description: 

Key Responsibilities

The role holder’s primary responsibility is to contribute to the China macro strategy team’s research coverage and report production on the China FX market and work closely with internal stakeholders (including Sales, Trading, CIB Relationship Managers, Capital Markets, Transaction Banking and China opening team) to provide high quality services to the Bank’s clients globally.

 

Strategy/Business

•    Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group 
     operates to ensure that Greater China Macro Strategy research coverage is aligned with the bank’s footprint.
•    Contribute to the Greater China Macro Strategy research team to help deliver world class content in Greater China macro strategy (FX, rates) research materials
•    Lead the coverage of Taiwan exchange rate and interest rate markets, provide timely analysis and updates to both internal 
     stakeholders and external clients, conduct strategy research to provide trade ideas, conduct client meetings and present at external events to discuss SCB house views
•    Facilitate the coverage of China fixed income markets, including cash bonds, IRS ,and other derivatives
•    Contribute to Greater China strategy reports, and other joint reports with broader teams
•    Maintain and update models related to Taiwan and mainland China market’s FX and interest rate markets

•    Be responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group
•    Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them
•    Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment in Global Research 

Governance

•    Ensure adherence to the product governance both individually and within the global team
•    Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
•    Be responsible for delivering ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

Qualifications

•    Ideally for degree holder of relevant subjects, and experience of Investment Research, including emerging markets.

•    The ability to write to a high standard and have excellent communications skills is essential.
•    The candidate must be able to speak and read Mandarin
