Job Description: 

Job Summary

Lead communications and engagement for the Bank’s transformation agenda, including Fit for Growth, to build understanding, confidence and momentum across the organisation. The incumbent is a strategic advisor and hands-on communicator who combines strong stakeholder management, sound judgement and cross-channel expertise to deliver clear, relevant and impactful messages for colleagues and leaders. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Shape and deliver the transformation communications and engagement strategy in support of CABM and the Bank’s strategic priorities.
•    Maintain a clear and compelling transformation narrative aligned to the Bank’s strategy.
•    Partner with transformation teams across the Bank to communicate objectives, progress and outcomes clearly.
•    Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships at various levels to act as an advisor on key communication initiatives. 
•    Advise stakeholders on delivering integrated, timely and clear communications to colleagues.
•    Work with programme, regional and market stakeholders to strengthen change and communications plans.
•    Develop leadership narratives on transformation in partnership with CABM teams and key stakeholders.
•    Act as a strategic communications partner to HR and CABM leadership on transformation and strategic priorities.

Business
•    Partner with CABM Communications to create strong stories, internal content and channel plans that support transformation priorities and strengthen culture.
•    Develop communication materials such as town halls, newsletters, videos, infographics, briefing packs and FAQs, while managing spend within approved budgets and brand guidelines.
•    Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders to understand priorities, constraints and messaging needs.
•    Work with external vendors where needed to deliver change communications to a high standard.
•    Keep CABM leadership and key stakeholders informed of relevant market, technology, change and communications developments.

Processes

•    Track transformation progress through analytics and feedback and ensure the right communication and feedback channels are in place.
•    Set and use clear measures to assess communications impact and drive continuous improvement.
•    Maintain feedback channels that capture real-time input during transformation initiatives.

People and Talent 
•    Collaborate with other CABM teams and stakeholders to execute successful communications strategies.
•    Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.  

Risk, Regulation and Governance
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Other Responsibilities
•   Serve on CABM and Internal Communications working groups and committees as needed. Member of the Internal Communications Community of Practice to share priorities and communications initiatives from Group that Business, Function and Market communicators need to know about, making specific asks for support and activations where needed. Take on special assignments to support CABM priorities as needed.

Our Ideal Candidate

•    10+ years of communications experience, ideally in internal and transformation communications.
•    Strong track record of advising senior leaders on effective communications aligned to business strategy.
•    Experience in a global matrix organisation is an advantage.
•    Ability to design communications strategies and tactics with clear outcomes in mind.
•    Ability to spot potential reputation or culture risks and raise them effectively.
•    Strong experience creating content that supports strategic narratives.
•    Good understanding of content strategy, communications channels and social media.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Experience in corporate communications, PR or journalism.
•    Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
•    Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
•    Experience managing senior stakeholders and external vendors across locations.
•    A curious and creative mindset, with good data analysis and visualisation skills.
•    Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or MS365 Copilot effectively.
