What’s the opportunity?
•    The Process Excellence team requires a Director, ARIS Tooling Lead to own the strategic direction, governance, and enterprise application of the Bank’s ARIS process management platform.
•    This role is accountable for ensuring ARIS is a stable, compliant, and high value enterprise capability, supporting effective process ownership, insight generation, and continuous improvement across the Bank. The role balances strategic evolution of the tool (including enablement of AI capabilities) with strong risk, control, and vendor management, ensuring minimal disruption to business users.
•    The ARIS Tooling Lead acts as the lead for how ARIS is governed, enhanced, and experienced across the organisation.

What will you do?
The role holder will partner with Process Excellence team, Global Process Owners, Technology, and external vendor to define, operate, and evolve the ARIS platform in line with business priorities. The role will ensure the platform is well managed in BAU while continuously improving user experience, adoption, and insight generation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Define and own the ARIS tooling strategy and roadmap, aligned to the Process Universe and Process Excellence objectives
•    Identify, prioritise, and deliver tool enhancements, including AI‑enabled capabilities, dashboards, and analytics
•    Translate business needs into practical tooling solutions, balancing ambition with operational and risk constraints

Business
•    Act as enterprise owner of the ARIS platform, covering strategy, governance, usage standards, and value realisation
•    Drive increased active usage and adoption across businesses and functions
•    Partner with Process Universe roles, and communities of practice to embed ARIS into BAU ways of working
•    Ensure ARIS supports effective process discovery, ownership, and improvement
•    Ensure stable day to day operation of ARIS with no material incidents 
•    Lead vendor engagement and release management, ensuring timely implementation compliance with Group standards minimal disruption to users
•    Oversee testing, change communication, and post release validation

People & Talent 
•    Develop and implement training, onboarding, and awareness programmes for different ARIS user groups
•    Build capability across the organisation by simplifying and clearly explaining technical tooling concepts
•    Champion a culture of process excellence, continuous improvement, and disciplined tool usage

Risk Management
•    Identify, assess, monitor, and manage risks related to tooling stability, data quality, compliance, and vendor dependency
•    Ensure appropriate controls, monitoring, and escalation processes are in place

Governance 
•    Establish and maintain clear governance, standards, and controls for ARIS usage and change
•    Ensure transparency through tracking, reporting, and stakeholder communications
•    Maintain documentation and audit‑ready artefacts for tooling governance

Regulatory & Business Conduct 
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct

Qualifications

•    Expert level experience with ARIS in an enterprise or regulated environment 
•    Proven experience owning or running a core business tooling platform end to end 
•    Strong understanding of process management frameworks, governance, and taxonomy 
•    Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non technical stakeholders 
•    Experience working across global, multi stakeholder environments
•    Strategic mindset with strong execution discipline
•    Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
•    Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
•    Detail‑oriented with a well‑developed risk and control mindset
•    Confident, pragmatic, and resilient in managing ambiguity and change
