• Deputy Representative of Argentina Representative office.
• Coverage includes origination, responsibility for budget and returns, Credit and Compliance Risk.
• Collaboration with Senior Management, Products Partners, Stakeholders.
Strategy
• Contribute to the team’s business plans for the expansion of business opportunities in strategic target areas.
• Implement an effective regional plan that supports operational resilience and the delivery of countries strategies in the region, including people, premises, technology and behaviours. Ensure that the regional plan is aligned with the region's short, medium and long term aspirations.
• Contribute to manage and drive the financial performance to ensure that financial results are on track to exceed or deliver targets, that forecasting is accurate and that the cost budget within the Corporate and Institutional Banking business is managed effectively.
Business
• Responsible for developing profitable and quality business to ensure profit targets as agreed are met if not exceeded.
• Promote in-bound business from the network.
• Contribute to drive the business agenda in the region and bring alignment across the business and functions by working with the regional segment and product heads to maximize and protect franchise value and resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
• Enable the consolidated regional financial performance through the following activities:
• Ensure country balance sheets within the region are managed effectively, including liquidity management and efficient use of capital, to support the execution of any regional strategy and business plans.
• Drive collaboration across client coverage and product for the regional C&IB business.
• Identify and develop white spaces within the region.
• Sponsor key client relationships.
• Support Country/Regional CEOs and CIB Heads in driving business with sovereign relationships.
• Challenge business performance and aspiration relative to regional competition.
• Ensure alignment of business budgets and targets with balance sheet considerations, supporting infrastructure (people, systems and property) and strategy.
• Optimise resource allocation (Capital & Liquidity) across the region and seek appropriate tradeoffs.
• Oversight of prudent cost management.
• Recommending and enabling appropriate acquisitions or disposals of businesses and/or subsidiaries.
• Drive business performance and maximise shareholder value in line with the agreed business strategy and within risk appetite. Allocating resources appropriate in order to maximize Group returns.
• Develop a culture which understands and evaluates the constant tradeoffs between new business, risk and capital deployment.
Skills and Experience
• Market Knowledge: – awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the firm operates.
• Business Strategy and Model: – awareness and understanding of the firm’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role
• Key Regulatory Relationships - develop and maintain established regulatory relationships and credibility to articulate the Americas regulatory framework, improvements, and progress with key regulators in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
• Risk Management and Control: – the ability to identify, assesses, monitor, control and mitigate risks to the firm. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the firm and the role the individual plays in managing them.
• Financial Analysis and Control: – the ability to interpret the firm’s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
• Governance, Oversight and Controls: – the ability to assess the effectiveness of the firm’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas.
• Regulatory Framework and Requirements: – awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates.
• Non-technical skills: - ability to deliver ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with the FCA/PRA/host regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
• Substantial experience at a senior level in the banking / finance industry with an international context.
• A leader with strong strategic skills, able to articulate and communicate the growing ambition and goals for the business & region both internally and externally.

• Ability to manage in a geographically and culturally dispersed environment.
• In-depth understanding of key business drivers across geographies with sound understanding of the regulatory, legal, political and economic situation/ framework.
