Job Summary
The Structured Solutions Development (SSD) team, embedded within Treasury and Trade (TB) Sales, is tasked with originating, negotiating, and structuring customised trade finance solutions that precisely meet the evolving needs of our diverse client base. Members of this team act as consultants, leveraging deep industry insight and specialist solution knowledge to create value-driven outcomes that support our clients' growth and operational efficiency.
Strategic Contribution:
- As a senior and integral contributor, you will actively shape and execute the global SSD strategy in the region, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and market dynamics.
- Lead sector-specific thematic discussions with clients, fostering thought leadership and expanding industry knowledge.
- Identify opportunities to replicate innovative structured solutions across industries, driving scalability and client value.
- Enhance client experience by promoting a consistent and recognisable service identity, whilst adapting to regional market nuances.
Business and Financial Leadership:

- Deliver against the financial objectives of assigned portfolios, actively managing product profitability, deal volume, and client engagement metrics to meet or exceed revenue targets.

Risk Management and Compliance
- Expertly articulate the benefits, risks, and mitigations of proposed structured solutions to clients, internal risk teams, and other key stakeholders, ensuring a shared understanding of value and potential impacts.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant local and international legal frameworks, regulatory standards, and industry initiatives to anticipate and adapt to regulatory developments.
- Provide proactive and pragmatic advice on regulatory, reputational, and ethical considerations to safeguard both client and bank interests.
- Ensure stringent adherence to internal compliance policies, ethical standards, and best practices across all stages of deal origination and execution.
- Contribute precise and comprehensive inputs into credit documentation, term sheets, and risk assessments to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Actively monitor, escalate, and remediate risk and compliance matters in a timely and effective manner, fostering a robust risk culture within the team and region.
Skills and Experience
- Consultative Sales Expertise: Experienced in developing bespoke structured trade finance proposals tailored to complex client requirements.
- Product Mastery: In-depth understanding of structured finance products, enabling effective solution design and client advisement.
- Legal and Regulatory Acumen: Skilled in analysing legal instruments, debt structures, and jurisdictional regulations pertinent to trade finance operations.
- Financial Literacy: Proficient in analysing financial statements and creditworthiness to ensure risk-aligned deal structuring.
- Credit Analysis: Competent in credit assessment processes, verification procedures, and risk mitigation strategies.
- International Trade Knowledge: Familiar with global trade mechanisms, compliance requirements, and commodity financing.
- Industry Awareness: Strong grasp of sector-specific trends, challenges, and opportunities to advise clients with precision.
- Structured Finance: Demonstrable experience in structured trade and commodity financing, with a track record of successfully executed transactions.
Qualifications
Applicants are expected to hold a Core Credit and Risk Management certification, completed prior to or within 12 months of joining. This formal qualification ensures a robust foundation in credit principles and risk oversight critical to the role.
Additional academic qualifications in finance, economics, business, or related fields are advantageous and will support effective performance in this highly specialised environment.
