Standard Chartered Bank is marking the one-year anniversary since going live with a full set of new cash management capabilities in the UK and Europe, which enables us to support local and international cash management services for our Corporates clients. We are at the beginning of an exciting journey to build our Cash Management business, connecting our clients from across our network in Americas, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to drive Cash Product Management in Europe.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Understands Transaction Banking market trends, opportunities and can translate these into new business opportunities or articulate their competitive threat across the region. Devise local strategies to capture emerging opportunities and grow revenues. Executes the TB Europe Cash Management strategy realising benefits for our stakeholders.   
•    Act as a bridge between region and group TB Product Management and where appropriate, identify and translate market opportunities into new, enhanced or re-packaged products and services in order to generate profitable business for Standard Chartered in Europe and the bank broadly. This includes the production of clear business cases defining product features and functionality, target market, P&L projections and any changes required to internal processes and service delivery. 
•    Drive payments and cash management product across the product life cycle from design, inception, delivery and ongoing management of mature products.  

Business
•    Demonstrated payments product management experience at a senior product manager level specialising in payments in the European context for FI Banks and Multinational Corporate clients, including Clearing Services, High Value Payments, Transactional FX, Digital Assets, Domestic Cash Management, Collection Services, Reporting and Virtual Account solutions
•    Relevant experience with European schemes T2, Euro1 and SEPA is well regarded as is experience with active participation in European and or German payments industry bodies.
•    Demonstrated understanding of Open Banking framework in Europe, and experience in developing or managing emerging overlay solutions well regarded. 
•    Proven track record in interpreting, defining business requirements and implementing change to comply with, and awareness of what is coming next on the regulatory horizon impacting Transaction Banking. 
•    Develop, deliver, commercialise and ensure end to end governance of products in scope to achieve commercial and defined business outcomes
•    Demonstrate active product life cycle management through delivery of monthly MIS; annual assessments of products, demonstrating that these are Fit for Purpose, fit for Growth and Fit for Sale as per TB Product Governance, Risk, and conduct frameworks. 
•    Execute regional deployment of global cash product developments / functionalities with global/ local PMO team. Ensure timely deliveries on agreed strategy. 

Processes
•    Experience with large scale payment transformation programmes including business requirement documentation, acceptance testing to validate requirement completeness. 
•    Define customer propositions including pricing, features, eligibility, compliance, and ensure internal and external documentation is authored and maintained to support the commercialisation and growth of new and existing Cash Management products.
•    Bring a governance mindset to product development and ongoing lifecycle management, ensure timely renewal of country addendums to product documentation and other activities as required by TB Product Governance framework. 

People & Talent 
•    Act as role model and coach/mentor for the team and broader Europe and TB business
•    Experience conducting webinars / training with Sales, Coverage and FM to further strengthen Cash management product knowledge. 

Risk Management
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters relating to TB products.
•    Ensure country compliance on Group standard for Audit, Control and financial reporting, including reporting of risks

 

Governance 
•    Work with Operations to improve overall service standards and to ensure that quality of service to customers remains superior to competition
•    Ensure timely renewal of country addendums (CAs) to PPGs and proactively work with stakeholders to identify and quantify new and existing risks. Actively participate in NPC roll out and execution in the country. Ensure local governance is followed and risks and issues managed

Regulatory & Business Conduct 
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters relating to TB products within the region.
•    Ensure country compliance on Group standard for Audit, Control and financial reporting, including reporting of risks 
•    Demonstrated experience in understanding PRA, FCA and the Bafin regulatory requirements in relation to TB products in Europe and ensure ongoing compliance with them, instigating mitigating actions and product changes and programmes as required
