Job Summary
Sales & Distribution Leadership
• Drive revenue growth across life, health, and general insurance through all bancassurance channels
• Develop & implement sales strategies aligned with the bank’s annual business plan and regulatory requirements.
• Set, monitor and deliver sales targets.
• Collaborate with distribution heads (Retail Banking, Priority Banking, SME, other channels) to integrate insurance offerings into existing customer engagement models.
• Ensure robust sales training for branch staff and relationship managers on product features, needs-based selling, and compliance.
• Leverage data analytics to identify cross-sell opportunities and enhance penetration ratios
• Monitor performance KPIs.
Product & Partnership Management
• Manage insurer relationships (life, health, and general) to optimize product offerings, service levels, and commercial terms.
• Oversee product selection and development ensuring suitability for different customer segments
• Negotiate and finalize product structures with insurers, including pricing, underwriting, and value-added services.
• Introduce and refine products based on customer insights, competitive benchmarking, and regulatory changes.
• Ensure digital integration of insurance products into digital customer journeys
• Coordinate marketing campaigns with bank’s marketing team and insurer partners to increase awareness and uptake.
• Oversee product training content and ensure all front-line teams have updated product knowledge.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure 100% adherence to IRDAI regulations, RBI guidelines, and bank’s internal Group guidelines and compliance framework.
• Implement robust sales governance — preventing mis-selling, enforcing needs analysis, and maintaining documentation standards.
• Oversee complaint management and ensure timely resolution of customer grievances related to insurance.
• Conduct regular audits (internal and joint with insurers) to check sales quality, policy issuance, and post-sales servicing.
• Monitor persistency ratios and enforce remedial action plans for underperforming segments.
• Ensure accurate reporting to senior management on sales, persistency, and governance KPIs.
Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities
• Annual business planning for bancassurance, balancing revenue goals with customer value and compliance.

• Standardize sales and service workflows across all channels.
• Integrate insurance offerings into bank systems, digital platforms, and customer journeys.
• Implement performance monitoring dashboards for sales KPIs, persistency, and customer metrics.
People & Talent
• Build and lead a high-performing bancassurance team across geographies.
• Drive capability building through product and compliance training for bank staff.
• Foster a performance culture with clear accountability and recognition frameworks.
Risk Management
• Identify and mitigate risks related to product suitability, sales practices, and partner performance.
• Monitor persistency ratios and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure customer complaints are resolved promptly with root-cause analysis.
Governance
• Enforce robust sales governance to prevent mis-selling and ensure needs-based selling.
• Chair product approval and sales oversight committees.
• Conduct periodic audits and reviews of sales quality and post-sales servicing.
