Job Summary
As a front-line trade sales specialist, you will be responsible for converting client engagement into funded trade flows and tangible revenue. You will drive monetisation of existing corporate and FI credit lines by maximising utilisation across trade products and flow opportunities. You will own pipeline creation and deal execution end-to-end, working across coverage, product, and risk to originate, structure, and close transactions
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong understanding of client needs, market trends, product developments, and competitive intelligence to support the ongoing enhancement of Trade Finance solutions and strengthen the Bank’s market position.
- Develop a deep understanding of clients’ businesses, operating models, and strategic priorities in order to anticipate requirements and identify relevant advisory and financing opportunities.
- Proactively engage existing corporate clients to broaden relationships, deepen wallet share, and identify opportunities to grow utilisation of Trade Finance products and services.
- Drive structured client calling and on-selling activity to defend, maintain, replenish, and expand utilisation of existing Trade Finance credit facilities and flow opportunities.
- Originate and support flow opportunities, including export LC confirmation and discounting, where the corporate client is the decision-maker and risk is marked against the relevant financial institution.
- Support opportunities across a range of Trade Finance products, including Documentary Trade such as import letters of credit and bank guarantees, as well as Open Account solutions such as invoice financing, receivables financing, and supplier financing.
- Partner with Sales and Product leads to define and maintain a focused list of priority corporate clients for targeted engagement and relationship development.
Day-to-Day Tasks
- Identify and pursue opportunities with non-clients around financial institution products, including non-banked beneficiaries, where relevant to the business strategy.
- Develop and execute a consistent, disciplined, and adaptable client calling and follow-up plan for targeted clients, with the objective of maintaining and growing assets and contingents.
- Record client outreach activity, track wins and lost opportunities, and provide clear feedback on reasons for loss to inform future sales strategy and product positioning.
- Generate actionable insights into client business requirements to build leads for upsell and cross-sell opportunities across relevant Trade Finance solutions.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Product Management, Trade Operations, Trade Sales, Trade Distribution, Compliance, Credit, and Legal.
- Provide reporting, tracking, and management information support as required to monitor pipeline activity, client engagement, and business outcomes.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable AML, KYC, compliance, conduct, and internal policy requirements.
- Operate as an individual contributor, demonstrating ownership, accountability, and strong collaboration across internal teams and client coverage partners.

- Strong knowledge of Trade Finance products, solutions, and market dynamics, with the ability to apply product expertise to client needs and commercial opportunities.
- Ability to develop and support effective marketing, client engagement, and positioning strategies that strengthen market presence and drive business momentum.
- Proven capability in both tactical and strategic planning, with the ability to translate business priorities into clear execution plans and measurable outcomes.
- Forward-looking mindset with the ability to identify market disruption, emerging trends, and innovation opportunities that may influence client demand and product strategy.
- Strong understanding of business markets, corporate client needs, and competitive landscapes, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
- Experience using business performance insights, pipeline data, and management information to monitor progress, inform decision-making, and improve commercial results.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior clients, internal partners, and cross-functional teams.
- High level of commercial judgment, ownership, and execution discipline, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of client-facing experience, ideally gained in quota-carrying, revenue-generating, or commercially focused roles within financial services or a related environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Trade Finance products is required, including Import and Export Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Invoice Financing, Supplier Finance, Receivables Finance, and Working Capital solutions.
- Previous experience in Sales, Product Management, Trade Operations, or Client Service would be highly advantageous, particularly where it has involved close engagement with corporate clients and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders across functions, products, and business areas to drive a shared commercial agenda and deliver client-focused outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage professionally with clients across in-person, telephone, and digital channels while building trust and rapport across a client portfolio.
- Demonstrated resilience, persistence, and a positive mindset, with the ability to navigate rejection, maintain momentum, and continue driving progress in a target-oriented environment.
- Fluency in English is required; additional language capabilities would be considered an advantage.

Recruitment Assessments
Expected annual base pay range for the role is 125,000 USD to 185,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location.
