Job Summary
As an Associate, Client Management at Standard Chartered in Dubai, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the client management operations within the banking division. This role demands a deep commitment to upholding Strategy Enablement Standards by ensuring consistent application of Department Operating Instructions and established workflows across client teams. You will actively contribute to fostering a culture of risk awareness, transparency, and operational excellence by liaising with auditors and regulatory bodies. A key aspect of your role will involve enhancing client management knowledge, embedding best practices related to risk management, governance, and reporting to facilitate a culture focused on zero operational losses and accuracy.
You will manage critical processes related to custody and security documentation, including credit fulfilment activities, collateral monitoring, and compliance with Key Control Self-Assessment processes. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and dedication to maintaining departmental standards, which directly impact the integrity of client relationships and regulatory compliance. Your collaborative engagement with diverse teams such as Finance, Risk, Technology, and Operations will be essential in balancing business objectives with risk mitigation.
This position is office-based in Dubai and calls for a proactive individual capable of handling multiple priorities under deadlines, contributing to both day-to-day operations and strategic improvements within the Client Management area.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate comprehensive reports to satisfy audit and regulatory entities, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and punctual submissions of all required documentation.
- Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports (daily, fortnightly, monthly) for Senior Management to inform decision-making and governance.
- Collaborate with second line functions such as Financial Crime Compliance Assurance teams to respond to reviews, manage queries, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Execute custodial responsibilities following Group Standards, including the management of lodgements and withdrawals through the Collateral Management System (CMS).
- Perform diligent monitoring and documentation maintenance to ensure temporary withdrawal securities are tracked and unresolved cases flagged for further action.
- Discharge Key Holder duties by managing vault key rotations biannually, ensuring secure storage and custody of security documentation in fireproof conditions and through secure digital filing.
- Coordinate the scanning and digital archiving of securing documents to enhance accessibility while maintaining compliance with data protection standards.
- Manage relationships with external vendors for archival services, ensuring alignment with the Bank's standards and retention policies.
- Offer guidance and comprehensive onboarding for new team members, facilitating smooth integration into the team and operational processes.
- Develop personal learning plans aligned with team objectives and complete targeted milestones to enhance professional capabilities within Client Management.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience working with credit risk-related documentation, ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and audit environments, with the ability to prepare accurate and timely reporting.
- Experience handling complex documentation and operational processes in financial services.
- Proficiency in using Collateral Management Systems and operational risk platforms aligned with banking practices.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines consistently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to risk mitigation and process improvement.
- Comfortable working both independently and within a team-oriented framework, exhibiting resilience under pressure.

Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to perform tasks accurately under tight deadlines.
- Strong team collaboration skills complemented by the capacity to operate autonomously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to support reporting and presentation deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to assimilate and implement complex operational policies and procedures.
