Job Summary

Join Standard Chartered as an Associate in Affluent Client Segments, contributing significantly to the design and execution of the Affluent Client Value Proposition (CVP). In this pivotal role, you will assist in shaping strategic operational plans, programs, and procedures aimed at expanding our Affluent portfolio and enhancing client experiences. This position demands a proactive engagement with both strategy and business dynamics to drive sustained growth and optimize portfolio performance.

Strategic Focus:

  • Support the growth of the affluent client base through robust acquisition campaigns tailored for clients and staff.
  • Contribute to the development and advancement of Premium Banking as a crucial feeder into Priority Banking for potential clients.
  • Manage balance sheet components effectively to maximize returns, while ensuring compliance across Operations, Compliance, and Service Delivery functions.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, internal management information systems, and interest rate management to align with the bank's financial objectives.

Business Operations:

  • Implement acquisition programs by leveraging global toolkits and localized strategies that resonate with the target market.
  • Deliver value-added products and services that meet or exceed the expectations of existing and prospective retail clients.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to strengthen Standard Chartered's market positioning and brand presence.
  • Activate diverse lead sources such as digital channels, marketing campaigns, member-get-member initiatives, and strategic alliances to achieve business targets.
  • Develop localized market offers, comprehensive pitch-books, and targeted campaign scripts to support frontline engagement.
  • Provide insights for creating innovative product and service bundles that enhance client deepening and cross-segment selling opportunities.
  • Drive expansion in market share via growth in debit card spending and liability balances.
  • Accountable for product management decisions including marketing collateral deployment and above-the-line (ATL) and below-the-line (BTL) promotional activities.
  • Identify and present creative product solutions, pricing strategies, and cost management plans to optimize profitability.

  • Enhance market research processes and increase customer satisfaction through targeted insights and feedback analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation and rollout of personalized marketing campaigns, including win-back strategies and product-focused promotions.
  • Support Relationship Managers (RMs) by enhancing their capabilities to engage clients effectively, leveraging data analytics to identify new revenue opportunities and improve wallet share.
  • Employ an agile methodology by continuously gathering frontline and client feedback to refine and optimize program implementation.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at service improvement and elevate overall customer experience.
  • Identify and analyse business and operational requirements aligned with strategic objectives.

Risk Management

  • Ensure rigorous management of operational risks within the function, maintaining adherence to internal policies and external legal regulations.
  • Implement and maintain effective systems and controls in line with Group and Business Policies, including Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations, Finance, and Reputation safeguards.
  • Develop and monitor processes for risk identification, management, monitoring, and reporting to uphold organizational integrity.
  • Maintain systems safeguarding the security, confidentiality, and integrity of client and business information.
  • Oversee portfolio operations to ensure compliance with bank operational risk parameters, including product audits and regulatory adherence.
  • Interpret Group financial information competently to identify key operational issues and implement appropriate controls and mitigation measures.

Qualifications

Relevant qualifications that support a strong foundation for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Professional certifications related to banking, wealth management, or financial services are advantageous (e.g., CFA, CFP).
  • Continuous professional development through workshops, seminars, or online courses focused on client relationship management, risk compliance, or product innovation.
