Job Summary
The Associate Director, Managed Investments role is a product advisory role supporting Private Banking Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), serving as the primary point of contact for all Managed Investments (MI)-related activities. The role focuses on enabling revenue and Assets under Management (AuM) growth by supporting product positioning, client engagement and the effective distribution of centrally curated Managed Investment solutions across traditional long-only funds, private markets funds, hedge funds and other investment products among others.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Support the growth of the Managed Investments (MI) business in Private Banking Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) by promoting a high-quality, well-positioned product offering across asset classes and geographies.
- Assist in implementing group and country strategies by enabling effective product positioning and compliant sales practices within Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
- Contribute to achieving Assets under Management (AuM) growth and revenue targets by enabling effective distribution, product understanding and client engagement.
Business
- Provide Managed Investments support to Private Banking Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) by facilitating product updates, insights and materials, and supporting sales teams in client engagement and product positioning.
- Drive awareness and understanding of existing and new Managed Investments (MI) offerings among Relationship Managers (RMs) and Advisors to support adoption.
- Support the local rollout and pitching of new products, including preparing and delivering product pitches in one-to-one interactions and sales forums.
- Clearly articulate unique selling propositions, investment rationale and strategy positioning for products being pitched.
- Act as a key local point of contact for all Managed Investments-related queries within Private Banking Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
- Leverage strong Managed Investments knowledge to independently address routine product queries, escalating more complex topics where required.
- Build credibility with Relationship Managers and Advisors as a trusted source of product knowledge and insight and attend client meetings when needed.
- Manage product activities for the Bank’s Managed Investments proposition, including Mutual Funds, Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM), Alternatives, marketing and promotion, and sales campaign design and management.
- Ensure relevant sales teams, including frontline Relationship Managers (RMs) and specialists, receive adequate sales support, training, marketing collateral and other sales tools.
- Work with Proposition and Marketing teams on marketing campaigns, communications and client events.
- Manage all Managed Investments business-as-usual (BAU) activities, including training new joiners on the Managed Investments product proposition.
Processes
- Build and enhance processes suitable for the Managed Investments (MI) business and provide relevant expertise.
- Engage with risk control owners and group policy owners to implement required policies and control standards.
- Ensure back-end processes for investment products operate to high standards to deliver excellent customer experience and minimise complaints.
- Work with stakeholders to improve quality, turnaround time and efficiency for end-to-end business-as-usual (BAU) and new processes.
Risk Management
- Partner with risk teams to ensure risk management procedures and processes are effectively implemented within operational and credit risk appetite.
- Develop and implement appropriate rules and guidelines to ensure internal and external legal, compliance and risk management requirements are met.Work collaboratively with countries and functions to ensure audit findings are suitably rectified.
Governance
- Understand and support the Group’s governance, oversight and control arrangements, including the regulatory framework and requirements relevant to the role.
- Maintain an adequate control environment and operational procedures to prevent losses arising from non-adherence to controls.
- Monitor regulatory and market developments and provide feedback to sales and management teams.
- Ensure compliance with all Bank and external regulatory authority requirements associated with investment products.
- Provide policy guidance and product support to Wealth Management units across the region for local sales and distribution of investment products.

Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification, such as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s in Finance, from a reputed global university is preferred.
- Professional qualifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) are required.
- 4–6 years of experience as a product specialist within Managed Investments, including traditional long-only funds, private markets funds and hedge funds, ideally in a financial institution’s Private Banking setup.
- Experience should include responsibilities across revenue, product analysis, product marketing, investment process, investment systems and investment risk.
- Knowledge of investment theory and practice, regulatory rules and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight timelines.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate conviction ideas to frontline teams and clients in a simple and accessible manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong foundational experience in Managed Investments, enabling rapid onboarding and effective contribution with limited ramp-up time.
- Ability to identify the need for change, and to be adaptable and flexible in anticipating and realising market opportunities.
