Job Summary
The Wealth Coach role provides support to the Relationship Managers and the Investment Advisors and ensures a differentiated value proposition for Priority and Priority-Private Clients through our Wealth Specialists to meet the client’s desired investment objectives and increase bank’s share of wallet.
Through our Wealth Coach, business will drive further productivity for our Relationship Managers and ensure we strengthen their ability to perform and succeed by ensuring a scalable specialist model to support growth. This will also ensure that a high level of competency and advisory standard by Relationship Managers are maintained when they engage with clients.
Wealth Coach role also will create a differentiated CVP for our Priority Private clients by driving in-market training, upskilling, and coaching on Wealth advisory skills /digital advisory tools / Product knowledge / Product pitching / how to construct investment portfolios, how to undertake portfolio reviews (group sessions and one on one) to help influence the shape the book as required.
The Wealth Coach will also liaise with the product managers and other key stakeholders within the Wealth Management Product team on a regular basis to discuss business requirements and coach frontline teams to ensure flow of product and market knowledge.
The Key objective with the Wealth Coach will be as follows:
- Expound our portfolio-based advisory process, advisory framework and wealth products through training Relationship Managers and ensuring Relationship Managers follow a consistent approach to advising clients.
- Drive usage and adoption of digital advisory tools amongst all Relationship Managers to drive a portfolio approach to client advice.
- Upskill and coach Relationship Managers to drive better advisory and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Assisting Affluent Segment - Relationship Managers and Investment Advisors in the United Arab Emirates to meet client’s desired investment objectives and assist in achievement of AUM growth and revenues from Investment products.
• Responsible for updating the frontline on the outlook published by the CIO Office with relevant and timely information on global Capital Markets, Asset Classes and route to market ideas.
• To play a key role in liaising with the product managers within the Wealth Management product team (Managed Investments, Bancassurance, CMPS and WM Lending) on a regular and ad-hoc basis to ensure flow of client and market requirement.
• Ensure proper client coverage is provided to complete Portfolio Reviews of target clients as defined from time to time in addition to planning for New to Wealth client.
Business
• Coach RMs on constructing portfolios and conducting portfolio reviews.
• Ensure that all the wealth management sales teams (Frontline RMs & Specialists) receive adequate support, and route to market ideas basis current & relevant views.
• Keep abreast of latest trends on Investment products, financial markets, consumer behaviours and use of technology in providing investment solutions and internal WM processes.
• Provide reports / analysis where required within the management framework.
Processes
• Engage with risk control owners and / or group policy owners for the implementation of policies and control standards set by them
• Ensure delivery of views and route to market ideas on a weekly and monthly basis at highest standards to deliver excellent customer experience through Relationship Managers and Investment Advisors and minimise number of complaints.
People & Talent
• Develop a people culture which encourages, and champions change among colleagues in the daily workplace. This will facilitate ideation, product innovation and process improvement with the objective of delivering superior Customer & Frontline experience
• Coach new and junior RMs on entire Wealth products, processes and systems and be the go-to-person for wealth for frontline staff.
Risk Management
• Collaboratively partner with risk teams to ensure risk management procedures and processes are effectively implemented to operate within operational and credit risk appetite.
• Adhere and ensure operational risk management measures are met on a day-to-day basis
• Work collaboratively with countries and functions to ensure any audit findings are suitably rectified.
Governance
• Maintain an adequate control environment and operational procedures to prevent loss arising from non-adherence to controls
• Adhere to all controls and compliance guidelines set by the Bank
• Ensure compliance with all regulations and controls as set by the Bank and external regulatory authorities associated with Investment products

Task: Periodically run bootcamps for new RMs and Wealth Specialists to learn more about our Advisory process and framework / core Advisory skills / Product pitching / Portfolio Reviews / Systems / Tools
• Junior RMs / low vintage RMs / RMs identified as needing additional help and coaching.
Task: Coaching on core Advisory skills / Product pitching / review client portfolios with the Relationship Managers (one on one) to help rebalance and drive healthier portfolios
• Branch Managers; Team Leads; Senior Relationship Managers & Mid-tier Relationship Managers:
Task: Follow-up periodic (e.g. quarterly workshops / exercises post Wealth Academy programs) to ensure continued focus on skills learned in the Wealth Academy
Other Responsibilities
Broadening Knowledge & Ongoing Coaching:
Imparting Knowledge:
• Conduct regular ‘bootcamp’ sessions across branches / Hubs for all Relationship Managers to improve understanding of our advisory approach, advisory tools, portfolio construction etc.
• Drive Portfolio Review experience and embed best practice on gold-standard Portfolio Review process, focusing on building foundation portfolios, having portfolio-based conversations, etc.
• Drive usage and adoption of digital advisory tools (myWealth Advisor, MarketAnalyst, myInsure)
• Organize SME sessions (CEO, CIO, product experts) - new products/tools or market information; relevance to portfolios, including Banca where necessary.
• Run smaller group workshops on an ongoing basis – branches/hubs sharing behavioural skills: Probing and discovery via open-ended questions; Having difficult portfolio & performance conversations.
Events, Training and Ad-hoc support:
• Run key internal rhythms and events from an advisory perspective – Weekly Espressos/Booster calls, Jumpstarts, Wealth product updates, Monthly Market Outlook, Adhoc Market Watch, etc.
• Participate in client events and seminars.
• Participation in Academy from time to time – as an observer, providing practical inputs to improve content; SME sessions conduct; etc.
Remediation:
• Coaching for improvement: Identify underperformers and shadow, listen in to their calls, and provide coaching.
• Provide narrowcast training for identified Relationship Managers to improve their productivity.
• Provide monthly/regular training sessions for lower-tier / underperforming RMs focusing on a range of topics – client engagement best practice, how to identify leads, shifting from product led conversations to portfolio-based conversations etc.

Licences: SCA Certified
