Job Description: 

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Auditor – Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) to join Group Internal Audit and Investigations (GIAI) at Standard Chartered Bank.

 

As part of the Bank’s independent third line of defence, you will help assess the effectiveness of controls, identify risks, and provide assurance that the Bank's operations remain safe, compliant and sustainable. You will work closely with stakeholders across Corporate & Investment Banking while supporting the delivery of GIAI's strategy through a strong focus on customer outcomes, effective change, operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Audit Delivery

  • Support and participate in audit assignments across Standard Chartered Bank and relevant Group functions.
  • Develop testing approaches using Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics and other audit tools.
  • Contribute to audit planning, scoping and risk assessments.
  • Execute audit reviews efficiently, within agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • Identify, assess and communicate audit findings, risks, root causes and control weaknesses.
  • Track remediation actions and validate issue closure in line with audit methodology.
  • Escalate significant risks, unresolved findings and delays where appropriate.

 

Strategy & Continuous Monitoring

  • Support ongoing monitoring activities by identifying emerging risks, issues and trends.
  • Review management information (MI) and business reports to maintain awareness of key developments.

 

Business Partnership

  • Provide subject matter expertise to audit teams on Corporate & Investment Banking activities and related risks.

  • Support annual audit planning, risk assessments and training initiatives.
  • Promote early identification and escalation of risks, trends and control concerns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and senior management.
  • Present audit observations and updates to management forums and governance committees when required.

 

Regulatory & Conduct Responsibilities

  • Uphold the highest standards of ethics, integrity and professional conduct.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Proactively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk and compliance matters.

Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of Internal Audit (IA) standards, practices and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, risk assessment and internal controls.
  • Experience evaluating control environments and managing audit engagements.Sound financial acumen and analytical capability.
  • Strong written communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics in audit activities.
  • In-depth knowledge of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) businesses and related risks.

Qualifications

  • Professional auditor or business practitioner with experience in Credit, Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), Governance or Operational Risk.
  • Experience in Credit Analysis and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Banking products preferred.
  • Exposure to Data Science and advanced data analytics techniques is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analytics and related tools to support audit activities.
