Job Summary

A Business Development Manager (BDM) is a mid career sales role focused on identifying new business opportunities and driving revenue growth for the organization. The primary focus of BDM is on acquiring new clients and expanding market presence.

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategy

  • Contribute in defining and executing the commercial growth strategy aligned with company goals. 
  • Work closely with leadership to identify priority categories and customer segments. 

Partner Acquisition 

  • Identify and onboard high-potential B2B partners with large SME ecosystems (including but not limited to suppliers, distributors, corporate buyers). Develop customized product offerings in collaboration with the Product team. 
  • Participate in commercial negotiations and  help to finalize contractual agreements, ensuring win-win outcomes.   
  • Manage inbound interest and proactively drive pipeline development. 

Onboarding

  • Own the partner onboarding journey, ensuring smooth coordination across catalog, operations, and marketing teams. 
  • Contribute towards developing SOPs to ensure scalable, repeatable onboarding and activation processes.   

Skills and Experience

Relationship & Account Management 

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key partners and decision-makers. Conduct quarterly business reviews and ongoing relationship development. 
  • Track performance metrics, identify issues early, and proactively optimize partner success

Revenue & Performance Optimization 

  • Own topline and bottom-line performance of your partner portfolio. 
  • Monitor partner KPIs, drive promotional planning, and collaborate on trade marketing initiatives.   

Execution & Insights 

  • Conduct regular market visits to gather feedback and identify execution gaps. 


Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skill

Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a resilient, "hunter" mentalit

A deep understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.

Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and other sales automation tools

Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining client relationships

Strong existing network within the FMCG sector — manufacturers, distributors, or corporate buyers — to support our go-to-market strategy.

Qualifications

    • A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
    • An MBA or other master's degree is preferred.
