Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Business Risk Manager - TB Cash MEP to join our team in Dubai. This vital role is charged with supporting comprehensive governance and compliance frameworks across diverse risk types affecting Transaction Banking (TB) Cash operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring consistent application of policy and standards, overseeing risk management initiatives, and maintaining strong governance structures throughout the organization.
The role holder will be expected to cultivate a holistic understanding of operational and business risks inherent to the Transaction Banking cash business within the region, including managing risks associated with new business ventures, operational procedures, and regulatory changes. They will act as a pivotal liaison, combining expertise in risk identification and mitigation strategies with an ability to drive efficiency and effectiveness in governance processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, assess, and escalate macro-level risks and control challenges emanating from business initiatives or regulatory changes, supporting the development and execution of mitigation strategies to address these issues.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline governance frameworks, leveraging technology and process enhancements to improve risk systems and operational infrastructure within Transaction Banking.
- Champion the adoption of standardized best practices across all facets of transaction banking, ensuring consistent and effective implementation of governance and risk management frameworks.
- Lead and support the timely identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting of operational risks, ensuring adherence to organizational risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
- Support product and project teams by conducting comprehensive operational risk assessments of new and modified products, initiatives, and regulations, recommending appropriate controls to mitigate identified risks.
- Manage the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Operational Risk Framework (ORF) and related initiatives, confirming the effectiveness of embedded controls and periodic control checks.
- Oversee the execution and outcome analysis of Control Sample Testing (CST), and review Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Control Indicators (KCIs) to guarantee compliance with defined control standards.
- Maintain oversight of risk tracking systems, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of risk data, as well as driving timely resolution of identified risk events.
- Conduct independent validations to evaluate the effectiveness of existing risk controls and control testing processes, informing continuous control enhancement.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to minimize operational losses by investigating root causes, managing loss events, and ensuring effective remediation to prevent recurrence.
- Lead root cause analysis exercises, validate results, and track the execution of treatment plans, fostering accountability and ongoing risk reduction.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of operational errors, financial impacts, and near misses, ensuring alignment with delegated authority protocols for approvals.
- Partner with cluster leadership to cultivate a high-performance risk-aware culture, embedding policy and procedure adherence within the Cash Business for the cluster.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for policy and standard consultations, managing impact assessments at the Group level and ensuring transparent communication across the business.
- Oversee the delivery of regulatory mandates and ensure compliance with industry best practices to maintain the organization’s reputation and operational integrity.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders within the network to maintain alignment and anticipate upcoming risk and governance challenges.
Skills and Experience
- Proven expertise in Transaction Banking Cash Operations, including product knowledge, sales change processes, and risk management, demonstrated through mid to senior-level experience within the financial services industry.
- Substantial work experience in the financial services sector, with a deep understanding of operational risk management principles and regulatory requirements.
- Professional certifications related to Risk Management or Audit (such as Certified Risk Manager, Certified Internal Auditor, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and reporting.
- Strong data management capabilities, including the ability to analyze, interpret, and utilize data to inform risk assessments and decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders at various organizational levels, fostering partnerships that drive risk mitigation activities forward.
- Comprehensive knowledge of operational risk frameworks and control environments, with capability to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- High proficiency in managing complex risk tracking systems and ensuring data quality, reporting accuracy, and compliance with governance standards.
