Job Summary

The Director of Enablement, Client Management for UAE & MENA will lead and inspire a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exemplary client services within the Financial Institutions and Corporate client segments. This role demands a proactive leader who will shape and execute strategies aligning with Standard Chartered's commitment to operational excellence and client satisfaction. The successful candidate will oversee all facets of client management, ensuring seamless collaboration across internal teams and stakeholders, while driving performance that meets and exceeds agreed service level agreements. Central to this role is advancing the implementation of a differentiated client management approach tailored to client tiers and value, backed by continuous process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness and digital adoption. The position is based in our Dubai office and emphasizes full-time leadership in a dynamic, client-focused environment focused on fostering lasting client relationships and business growth across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Process Optimisation
As a key driver for client management excellence, you will engage diverse internal stakeholders, leading initiatives to streamline processes and implement impactful changes. Collaborating closely with Relationship Managers, Product Sales teams, Operations, and other departments, you will serve as a vital service partner, swiftly resolving client issues and identifying opportunities to enhance customer service quality.

Operational Management and Digital Transformation
You will regularly assess operational effectiveness and quality, adapting strategies to evolving business and client needs. Championing the acceleration towards digital solutions, you will ensure that the digital value proposition resonates with client preferences and requirements. Your leadership in adopting innovative tools and technology will drive consistent operational improvements aligned with the Client Management destination model.

Business Alignment and Stakeholder Engagement
A deep understanding of the Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) business strategy will enable you to align client management activities accordingly. You will foster strong collaboration between CIB business units and Client Management, addressing business priorities and closing any identified gaps. Maintaining robust relationships with Finance, Risk, Technology, and Operations, you will maximize business opportunities and support compliance with regulatory and audit requirements. Additionally, your role includes coordinating outsourcing matters in accordance with policy and regulation, ensuring operational integrity at all times.

Team Leadership and Talent Development
You will be responsible for leading a diverse team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning. Your leadership will focus on mentoring, coaching, and developing team members to reach their full potential while driving high performance and engagement. You will establish clear objectives, provide constructive feedback, and support professional growth aligned with Standard Chartered's values and strategic goals.

Risk and Compliance Oversight
Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management frameworks is essential. You will lead the team in maintaining rigorous control standards, mitigating operational risks, and supporting audit and regulatory inquiries effectively. Your expertise will support the enforcement of local regulations covering Customer Due Diligence (CDD), credit and lending policies, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements, underpinning the bank's reputation and compliance commitments.

Stakeholder Communication and Reporting
You will take charge of transparent and regular communication with senior managers and stakeholders, providing comprehensive insights into team performance, service levels, and strategic initiatives. Utilizing management information systems (MIS) and performance data, you will generate actionable reports that inform decision-making and highlight opportunities for enhancement. Your presentations and written communication will be clear, persuasive, and tailored to varied audiences across the organisation.

Skills and Experience

  • UAE experience is a MUST.
  • Strong expertise in conduct management to ensure ethical behaviour and compliance.
  • Comprehensive risk management capabilities to effectively mitigate operational and regulatory risks.
  • Leadership and people management skills to inspire, develop, and manage high-performing teams.
  • Operational proficiency with a focus on process management and continuous process improvement.
  • Competency in data conversion, management reporting, and utilisation of MIS tools.
  • Experience in driving digital initiatives and adopting technological advancements within client management.
