•    We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Director to join our Platforms & Partnerships team, working across the group the Stablecoin strategy. This role is pivotal in creating and supporting strategic plans while determining the roadmap and managing key projects that drive innovation and growth within the bank. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of stablecoins and other digital assets including: tokenisation, distributed ledger technology (DLT), blockchain, Web3 technologies, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and emerging forms of money and payments companies. Experience in commercial banking is also desirable. 
•    The opportunity is to develop Standard Chartered stablecoin strategy and drive to execution stablecoin payment options for the clients served by the Corporate and Investment Bank. The strategy and roadmap will set out the strategic priorities and milestones working across product lines and distribution channels and other cross-function team members in this journey.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    The ED, Stablecoins will be responsible for leading the Stablecoin proposition across Standard Chartered. This role will work directly with the relevant stakeholders and manage the overall approach to stablecoins including strategic alignment and engagement with key products and channels.  This role will also work closely with the relevant regional leads to support specific regional initiatives. This role will also build, manage, and deliver the strategic stablecoin roadmaps based on market data and client demand.
•    This role will be expected to be exceptionally well connected with the Stablecoin market participants and builders. 

Business
•    Manage the strategy for the Stablecoins by working with the Global Head of DA (Digital Assets),  the Global Head of Strategic Platform Partnerships and the Digital Asset leads across regions and business lines. 
•    Understand the Digital Asset priorities for stablecoins prioritise in alignment the potential commercial return. 
•    Work across business lines and functions to coordinate executions and assist in the establishment of the appropriate design for Stabalecoin Solutions in collaborate with the DA business leads. 
•    Ownership of the implementation of the Stablecoin strategy for Standard Chartered within the context of the DA strategy. 
•    Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
•    Work with the Global Research team on Stablecoin thematic thought leadership.

Processes
•    Simplify complicated ideas into actionable, measurable pieces and communicate those ideas to key stakeholders to generate buy-in
•    Establish simple and effect processes to execute the stablecoin strategy and deliver stablecoin solutions to clients. 
•    Contribute to the effective application of tools and processes for the group to stablecoins such as Coin Assessment and Higher Risk Framework. 
•    Collaborate with Technology and Operations functions to ensure appropriate frameworks and operational infrastructure are in place to support efficiency in the enablement of Stablecoin Solutions.

People & Talent 
•    Set an example across the group not only with respect to the Group Valued behaviours but also in terms of Digital Asset knowledge and engagement to reinforce a culture of excellence in Digital Assets.
•    Support the Global Head, Digital Assets and the relevant business leads in the acquisition of world class Digital Asset talent.
•    Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.  Set appropriate tone and expectations, work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
•    Adherence to code of conduct prescribed by relevant authorities. 

Risk Management
•    Support the DA business leads and relevant Risk initiative leads to develop the appropriate methodologies for managing the token and network risk.
•    Develop appropriate reporting and oversight for tokens and networks.
•    Adhere to all Group Policies and relevant legislation covering credit, operational, reputational risk among others.  
•    Commitment to Group Code of Conduct and act as a role model for Conduct 
•    Timely completion of all mandatory e-learning, attestations, compliance requirements and requests for information. 

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or a related field.  Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

Experience:
Years of combined experience across : 
•    Hands-on digital asset roles at fintechs, stablecoin issuers, paytechs, or crypto-native firms
•    Institutional banking/financial services (risk, compliance, treasury or payments functions)
 
Digital asset practitioner experience:
•    Direct involvement in stablecoin projects (issuance, integrations, reserve management)
•    Work with crypto payments, digital asset custody, or blockchain-based financial infrastructure
•    Technical fluency with smart contracts (ERC standards), blockchain explorers, and wallet systems
•    Participation in DeFi protocols or crypto liquidity management
 
Banking experience:
•    Deep understanding of risk frameworks, regulatory compliance (AML/KYC, Basel III, money transmission laws)
•    Experience with treasury operations, financial market infrastructure or payment systems
•    Knowledge of institutional-grade security and operational controls
 

Strategic capabilities
•    Ability to evaluate crypto opportunities through both innovation and compliance lenses
•    Experience designing institutional crypto products that meet regulatory expectations
•    Track record of translating between traditional finance and crypto-native contexts
•    Understanding of both bank and crypto-economic models for stablecoins
 
Ideal Candidate Attributes
•    Specific crypto and stablecoin experience especially scaling and adoption.
•    Able to assess opportunities through both traditional risk-return frameworks and tokenomic models
