About The Role
The Sales Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of sales agents focused on acquiring and growing small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) clients for financial services offering of HAL. The role owns team sales performance against SME targets while ensuring the team consistently follows internal sales guidelines, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards. The Team Leader acts as the first line of oversight for how the team sells. 

Key Responsibilities

The Sales Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of sales agents focused on acquiring and growing small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) clients for financial services offering of HAL. The role owns team sales performance against SME targets while ensuring the team consistently follows internal sales guidelines, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards. The Team Leader acts as the first line of oversight for how the team sells. 

Strategy
•    Lead, motivate, and manage the day-to-day performance of a team of sales agents focused on the Financial Services segment
•    Set individual and team sales targets in line with overall FS sales strategy, and monitor performance against them
•    Continue to develop and explore new channels of lead generation for the FS business
•    Coach and mentor team members on sales technique, product knowledge, and objection handling
•    Conduct regular one-to-ones, team meetings, and performance reviews
•    Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new sales team members
•    Monitor pipeline health across the team and step in on key deals or escalations as needed
•    Identify skills gaps and coordinate relevant training or development plans
•    Report team sales performance, forecasts, and market feedback to senior management
•    Foster a collaborative, target-driven team culture aligned with compliance and client-service standards

Business
•    Retain a hands-on role in SME sales for, presenting and explaining relevant financial products 
•    Assess SME client needs, financials, and risk profile to guide product recommendations in line with compliance and suitability requirements
•    Liaise with operations teams to ensure smooth processing and onboarding of new SME clients
•    Handle escalated client queries, objections, and complaints professionally

Processes
•    Ensure the team consistently follows internal sales guidelines, scripts, and approved sales processes for SME products
•    Ensure all client interactions, product recommendations, and documentation comply with regulatory, KYC/AML, and suitability requirements
•    Conduct regular call/file quality checks and sales audits to identify and correct non-compliant behaviour
•    Own and communicate updates to policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements as they change, ensuring the team is briefed and trained accordingly
•    Investigate and escalate compliance breaches, mis-selling risks, or client complaints promptly and in line with internal procedures
•    Maintain accurate compliance records and evidence of team training/attestations for audit purposes
•    Act as the primary point of contact for compliance and risk teams on matters relating to the FS sales team
•    Ensure the team's use of the CRM system is accurate, complete, and audit-ready
