Job Summary
You will be supported and launched into a banking career on a global scale through our 18-month graduate programme. During our induction, you’ll meet peers and senior executives from across the Bank, creating networks that will support your career growth.

By the end of the program , you will be able to
- Story tell and simplify the Responsible AI Governance requirements to be able drive the governance reviews effectively with business and functions teams.
- Understand and interpret Regulations and guidelines on the Responsible use of AI. Have good communication and stakeholder management skills to work with first line business and function teams to apply the Standards within their AI use cases. Meet the SLAs and exceed ambitious business goals by engaging with Responsible AI Council, Model Development partners and senior management forums.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- As a Responsible AI Graduate in the Chief Data Office, you will play a pivotal role in aligning our AI initiatives with the organization's strategic goals. By developing and implementing robust AI governance frameworks, you will ensure that our AI systems are not only compliant with emerging regulations but also adhere to the highest ethical standards. Your work will support the strategic objective of deploying AI at scale across the Bank, enabling us to harness the full potential of AI technologies while maintaining safety and responsibility. Through close collaboration with third-party vendors and continuous monitoring of AI regulations, you will help safeguard our operations and drive responsible innovation. Your contributions will be instrumental in fostering a culture of ethical AI use, ultimately enhancing our competitive edge in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
Business
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Standard Chartered’s business functions and maintain a broad perspective on the economic and market environment for AIML Responsible AI Standards.
- Interpret business challenges and articulate how AI can add value to various business functions.
Processes
- Write, review, edit, and update content for AIML, including both internal and external communications.
- Develop and deploy relevant AI training content for a diverse audience of stakeholders.
- Author risk papers for senior audiences.
- Perform analytical work from the central team and provide recommendations for better decision-making.
People & Talent
- Collaborate closely with project teams to support delivery timelines and commitments.
- Develop training and awareness content to enhance skills across the Bank in the Responsible AI and Data Ethics space.
Risk Management
- Take ownership of identifying and highlighting various risks in a timely manner to stakeholders.
- Develop and implement proper remediation plans for identified risks, including a comprehensive risk roadmap.
Governance
- Maintain awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and expectations.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Lead the UAE RAI initiatives to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Other Responsibilities
- AI Governance: Assist in the development and implementation of AI governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and analyze emerging AI regulations and ensure that the organization's AI systems adhere to these regulations.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments of AI systems and identify potential ethical and compliance issues.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure that their AI solutions meet the organization's ethical and regulatory standards.
- Tooling and Deployment: Support the deployment of AI tools and technologies at scale, ensuring they are implemented safely and responsibly.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research on the latest developments in AI ethics and governance and provide insights to the Chief Data Office.
- Training and Awareness: Assist in developing training programs and awareness campaigns to promote responsible AI practices within the organization.
- Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations on AI governance activities and present them to senior management and relevant committees.
