Job Summary
The SC PrismFX Product Management role is a pivotal front office position within Standard Chartered, situated at the intersection of innovative product development and strategic business growth. Reporting directly to the Global Head of SC PrismFX Product Management and embedded within the FM Platforms business of the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Markets franchise, this role demands a forward-thinking individual dedicated to the formulation and execution of robust product strategies tailored to enhance SC PrismFX's market presence and revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities
This position is integral to the broader product management team and plays a crucial role in driving forward the business strategy that underpins sustainable revenue growth for SC PrismFX in the AME region. Success in this role requires active collaboration with a variety of internal stakeholders, including Transaction Banking Product Management and Product Development groups at both central and country levels, as well as broad engagement with Technology and Ops teams across Markets and Transaction Banking domains. Interaction with Risk, Compliance, Control and other business support alongside Marketing units within both Transaction Banking and Markets sectors, is a regular and essential part of the position to ensure the business is run in a controlled, compliant and smooth manner.
The role also involves dynamic engagement with external partners, encompassing vendors and trading venues, and maintaining a close working alliance with the Sales teams to ensure alignment of product offerings with client needs. This comprehensive stakeholder engagement ensures the continual refinement and success of SC PrismFX as a competitive, client-focused solution within the bank's suite of products.
Strategy
- Lead the architectural design and continual enhancement of the SC PrismFX product strategy, ensuring alignment with the bank's overarching Corporate and Institutional Banking objectives to foster significant revenue growth.
- Drive the execution of a comprehensive product development and commercialization of product deliveries that encompasses every stage of the product lifecycle from business requirements gathering to implementation and client feedback.
- Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with external vendors and relevant third parties that enrich the product offering and elevate client experiences, thereby strengthening our market position.
Business
- Champion the expansion and enhancement of the SC PrismFX product suite by crafting competitive, innovative solutions that address the specific needs of key client segments within Standard Chartered.
- Foster novel collaborative frameworks between Transaction Banking (TB) and Markets, leveraging their unique strengths particularly in liquidity and collateral management alongside TB's payment flows.
- Ensure harmonized product delivery across multiple jurisdictions by coordinating with TB and FM Country Product teams, Operations, and Technology partners, focusing on growth in vital origination and networking markets.
- Maintain an acute awareness of evolving market conditions, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decision-making and product positioning.
- Work closely with SC PrismFX Sales and the broader TB Sales and Relationship Management teams to drive commercialization efforts, embed feedback loops for continuous product refinement, and ensure client adoption.
Processes
- Continuously evaluate and improve product processes, systems, and operational frameworks to align with best-in-class industry practices and achieve a market-leading execution stance.
- Collaborate across first and second line functions to optimize governance, compliance, and risk management policies that sustain the long-term scalability and resilience of the SC PrismFX franchise.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a robust blend of technical acumen and strategic vision, underpinned by extensive experience in the design and implementation of financial products. Key qualifications and competencies include:
- Business Process Design: Proven ability to map, analyse, and innovate business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within financial services environments.
- Core Application Systems: Deep familiarity with financial systems integral to product management, including execution platforms, reporting systems, and client interface technologies.
- Digital Transformation: Experience leading digital initiatives that transform product offerings, enhance customer experience, and streamline operational frameworks.
- Product Design and Development: Expertise in conceptualizing, building, and evolving financial products throughout their lifecycle, ensuring market fit and regulatory compliance.
- Product Development Lifecycle Management: Solid understanding of the end-to-end lifecycle from ideation and development through to market launch, ongoing enhancement, and phase-out where necessary.
