Key Responsibilities

- To establish and maintain excellent working relationship with the internal stakeholders to ensure prompt and effective responses to the various business requirements, queries and requests from them.
- To be aware of the business targets and ensure compliance.
- To devote special care for the Clients and ensure service delivery as agreed.
- To own the business transactions and ensure completion at all levels/stages on a sustained basis.
- Responsible to handle various operational control recons, analysis, and remediation tasks, MI.
- Responsible to handle Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting for the AME countries in accurate and timely manner.
- Following up with RM’s and /or other internal stakeholders for pending transactions i.e. Referral Management
Client Services, client queries / complaints handling for Portfolio (Non-Premier) clients and non-voice enquiries. - Receipt and review of Daily Trade Control Reports.
- Resolve any gap or exceptions in any of the Trade Control Reports.
- Liaise with GBS to investigate and clear any open items in Nostro, Suspense, Sundry, TP/GL recons.
- Follow up with GBS to ensure all transaction processing are done within agreed TAT.
- Monitoring Transactions in the AML, sanctions, etc. queues and ensure quick closure.
- Working with GBS to ensure that the control activities are carried out and any identified exception resolved within acceptable time.
- Support GBS and Countries on handling Intragroup arrangement by way reviewing the service matrix on behalf of GBS service provider lead and supporting to find documents relating to migrations for Service recipient leads from country.
- Support in any Ad-hoc requests that business demand such as extensive checking of history transaction for investigation or audit assertions and other scenarios time to time.
- Review and updating of CDOI of any changes including regulatory changes, training (where required), ensure robust and well executed process notes are in place for non-standard country specific processes where necessary.
- To ensure planned leaves and enough back-ups created for seamless business delivery.
- To ensure on-going training for Staff on the DOI, process upgrades and deputing them for product related trainings..
- Compliance with all applicable Rules/ Regulations and Company and Group Policies.
- Work together with the Risk Management department to define Trade Ops AME annual risk appetite.
- Support the RCOO in the governance of the AME region.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
- Lead the Trade Operations Team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
- To effectively manage key stakeholders, Country Offices, Regulators, Superiors, Peers & Subordinates
- To actively participate in the C3 initiatives, led by example to Staff.
- To enthusiastically participate in the Quality initiatives of the organization and achieve expected results at workplace.
Skills and Experience
- Analytical
- MS Application such as Excel.
- Mail handling.
- Risk item Investigation.
- Experience in Trade Operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge and exposure across all Trade Finance products.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Qualifications
- Academic Qualification: BCom / MCom / MBA / BE with relevant experience.
- Relevant Trade Certification such as CDCS, CSDG, CTF as applicable to the role.
- CDCS qualification is mandatory.
- Trade Level II & III certification completion.
- AML & Sanctions Training, yearly certification.
