Key Responsibilities

The role holder will support the Middle East & Africa (MENA) Cluster Lead in the end-to-end delivery of Business Client Operations (BCO).

 

Strategy

  • Ensure processes supporting the country performed either onshore or offshore meet the minimum standards.

 

Business

  • To work with Business to deliver the FM (Financial Market) strategy

 

Processes

  • Ensure a high level of customer service for internal and external priority customers
  • Manage settlement of Saudi and Egypt FX transactions and support t its migration to GBS sites.
  • Managing regulatory reporting and Tax reporting.
  • Business partner to peer operational groups – Settlements,  Strategic Change Group, Cash Management, Global Network Management, Asset Servicing
  • Managing escalated client queries / Missing client documentation for priority clients
  • Management of escalated issues coming from hubs
  • Coordination of errors, near misses and loss write ups impacting the location

 

People and Talent 

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
  • Collaborative and a strong team player.

Risk Management

  • Participate and contribute to the effective operation of Countries.  
  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of key risks and support remediation planning.
  • Execute risk and control responsibilities.
  • Control testing, including identification of root causes
  • Ensure operational incidents (losses or near misses) are logged in accordance with relevant polices.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of BCO owned regulatory reports across the region.

Governance 

  • Ensure sustainable level of control is applied to daily processes.
  • Define and review departmental performance metrics for local and hubbed process 
  • Carry out daily and monthly reviews of service provided and performance 
  • Review trend analysis of performance benchmark standards (straight through processing attainment, query attainment, query resolution turnaround times etc) 

 

Regulatory & Business Conduct 

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. 
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
