Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Head of Technology, SCV, you will spearhead technological innovation, driving the development of cutting-edge solutions that redefine accounting practices. Your mission will be to architect a digital future for Hal , crafting and executing strategies to meet current demands and future growth. Initially the role will be hands on and you will be setting up the technology infrastructure with view to build a team of technology professionals when as the venture matures; shaping their efforts towards creating value to the customer and company. h., you will lead a dynamic team of technology professionals, shaping their efforts towards creating unparalleled value for our customers and the company alike. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Execute the technology strategy based on the roadmap to align with venture strategy
•    Create solutions that meet business needs
•    Drive the digital agenda, pre-empt disruptive forces and commercialise innovative use of technologies
•    Adopt architecture strategy across all systems and platforms to achieve long-term optimisation

Business
•    Build core tech and team (as applicable) and deliver on Venture  
•    Oversee aspects of engineering, including technical execution, technology architecture and best practice
•    Provide build / buy decisioning on systems
•    Provide hands-on technology leadership to the team, including expert technical guidance to all functional areas, including Product, operations, Customer and Strategic Partnerships
•    Define and implement best practices, processes, and procedures for development, quality assurance, and maintenance
•    Identify risks and opportunities for all planned projects
•    Manage and track budgets and work plans

Processes
•    Responsible for the complete process of providing technology solutions to the venture, including solutions provided by third parties.  
•    Ensure that technology team adopts best practice, technology standards and methodologies from architecture and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
•    Allocate resources effectively to maximize efficiency of delivery at the right price, managing vendors where necessary

People & Talent
•    Identify next wave of required talent for venture and build out effective technology platform across additional markets as required
•    Lead through example to build the appropriate culture and values.  Set appropriate tone and expectations from the team and work in collaboration with stakeholders and senior management.
•    Employ, engage and retain high quality people such that the technology team is skilled and experienced to deliver its obligations. 
•    Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development, ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
•    Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
•    Develop bench strength of “one-downs” by guiding and mentoring direct reports with more responsibility and ownership in managing and engaging senior business partners. 
•    Ensure “right-size’ organisation and ‘right fit people ’ -  Employ, engage and retain high calibre people and ensure that the team composition and structure has the appropriate diversity in terms of technical, domain and product expertise, background, race and gender.

Risk Management
•    Proactive in monitoring and seeking regular assurance that the areas of responsibility and teams are performing to an acceptable risk and control standard
•    Work towards the elimination of non-standard processes and systems that contributes to high operational risk. 
•    Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness becomes apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees.
•    Balance business performance, delivery and cost management constraints with risk and control matters to ensure that they do not materially threaten the Group/Venture’s ability to remain within risk appetite.

Governance
•    Ensure compliance with all salient SCB and venture governance frameworks where there are direct touch points with them or any subsequent downstream influence from the venture technology teams.
•    Manage the technology team within budgetary constraints, seeking operational efficiencies 

Regulatory & Business Conduct
•    Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
•    Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
•    Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
