Job Summary

We are looking for a Stablecoin Engineering Lead to join our Technology team and drive the successful delivery of the stablecoin workstream within the bank’s digital currency initiatives. This role requires a blend of engineering knowledge, functional expertise, and delivery management skills to orchestrate the workstream across multiple functions, including product, development, QA, operations, and downstream interfaces.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex, cross-functional workstreams, ensuring smooth delivery, and minimizing time to market. The role requires a solid understanding of payments systems, stablecoins, and blockchain technologies to effectively coordinate and align teams.

Key Responsibilities

Workstream Delivery Management:
•    Own the end-to-end delivery of the stablecoin workstream, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within scope.
•    Develop and maintain detailed delivery plans, tracking progress, risks, and dependencies across all functions.
•    Ensure alignment between product, development, QA, operations, and downstream teams to deliver a seamless solution.

Cross-Functional Orchestration:
•    Act as the central point of coordination for the workstream, ensuring effective collaboration across product, engineering, QA, operations, and external interfaces.
•    Manage dependencies between teams and escalate risks or blockers to the appropriate stakeholders.
•    Ensure that downstream systems and interfaces are ready for stablecoin integration.

Stakeholder Management:
•    Collaborate with product teams to understand business requirements and ensure they are translated into actionable technical deliverables.
•    Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders on workstream progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
•    Act as the primary point of contact for all workstream-related queries and escalations.

Engineering and Functional Oversight:
•    Work closely with engineering teams to ensure technical solutions align with the overall programme architecture and meet quality standards.
•    Provide functional guidance on stablecoin use cases, payments flows, and integration points with existing systems.
•    Ensure that testing and operational readiness plans are comprehensive and aligned with delivery timelines.

Risk and Issue Management:
•    Identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues that could impact the delivery of the workstream.
•    Proactively address challenges to minimize delays and ensure smooth execution.

Continuous Improvement:
•    Identify opportunities to streamline delivery processes and improve efficiency across the workstream.
•    Drive a culture of continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and applying them to future deliveries.

Key Skills and Experience
Delivery Management:
•    Proven experience in managing complex, cross-functional workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
•    Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and dependencies.

Technical Knowledge:
•    Solid understanding of stablecoins, blockchain technologies, and payments systems (e.g., RTGS, ACH, SWIFT, ISO 20022).
•    Familiarity with software development lifecycles (SDLC) and modern engineering practices (e.g., Agile, CI/CD).

Functional Expertise:
•    Strong knowledge of payments flows and integration points with downstream systems.
•    Experience working with product teams to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.

Stakeholder Management:
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and align diverse stakeholders.
•    Experience in managing senior stakeholders and providing clear, concise updates on progress and risks.

Problem-Solving and Risk Management:
•    Proactive approach to identifying and resolving risks, issues, and blockers.
•    Ability to think critically and make decisions under pressure.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
•    8+ years of experience in delivery management, payments technology, or related roles.
•    Experience with blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Hyperledger) and digital currency frameworks is a plus.
•    Certifications in Agile (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe) or project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
