Job Summary
As the Executive Director of Product Management, you will lead the end-to-end management of cash products, encompassing the identification, development, and enhancement of offerings across their full lifecycle. Your primary focus will be on expanding the footprint of financial institutions and paytech sectors, particularly within the UAE and Saudi Arabia, while managing broader regional initiatives across the Middle East and Africa.
You will be instrumental in translating emerging market trends and customer requirements into actionable product strategies that support profitable business growth. This includes developing robust business cases to support product features, forecasting P&L impacts, and collaborating closely with internal teams to refine operational delivery models. The role demands a keen eye for maintaining exceptional service standards and fostering strong relationships, ensuring our products remain competitive and valued by customers.
You will guide the execution of product initiatives aligned with the annual operating plan, working collaboratively with Country Product Heads and the Head of Product Cash. By understanding diverse client needs, you will build compelling client value propositions across all segments, driving the successful launch and commercialization of new and enhanced cash products.
Moreover, you will champion global training rollouts in your jurisdiction, ensuring the regional teams are equipped with the necessary knowledge to meet commercialization objectives. As a key interlocutor between regional and central product teams, you will oversee investment cases, regulatory requirements, and foster innovations that reinforce our market leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Client Connectivity and Engagement
You will actively build and nurture client relationships to increase penetration and revenue streams by leveraging the bank’s diverse product capabilities. Your role involves close coordination with Trade Banking Sales teams to plan impactful client events and product launches that resonate with market needs and ensure achievement of business targets.
Through workshops, client focus groups, and regular interaction, you will gather critical feedback to continuously enhance our product offerings. Your insights will drive product modifications and innovation, maintaining our competitive edge.
Product Ideation and Pitches
You are expected to maintain an expert knowledge of the bank’s online and cash management capabilities, applying this expertise to construct client-centric solutions tailored to their unique liquidity, cash flow, and transactional FX needs. You will monitor market conditions, identify emerging business opportunities or risks for Cash products, and incorporate these insights into the annual operating plan, driving strategic growth.
Business Revenue and Process Execution
You will hold full accountability for client-level revenue performance, focusing on fee generation, volume growth, and ancillary balance sheet drivers such as liabilities. Continuous evaluation of revenue streams and ideation of alternative solutions to enhance portfolio returns will be key responsibilities.
To support smooth commercialization, you will develop comprehensive training materials and deliver sessions for Trade Banking Sales, Client Coverage, and related stakeholders. Ensuring cross-team collaboration for revenue realisation post-launch and providing expert technical support for complex transactions will be essential to your success.
People and Talent
• Lead through example to build an appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations within the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
• Transaction Banking Sales roles are required to have mature relationship management skills to be able to liaise with senior representatives both within Standard Chartered Bank network and as well as with Commercial clients of the bank.
• Sound operational knowledge of related trade finance and cash management products and processes as it relates to understanding client needs and providing relevant solutions.
• Team management skill may be required to deal with co-workers i.e. stake-holders across the bank.
• Data management skill and awareness of latest trends in the digitization areas related to banking, finance to enable better understanding of client requirements and provide solutions.
Governance
• Build strong knowledge of local regulations and initiatives of local industry bodies to ensure the business is ahead of the regulatory change agenda.
• Proactively engage business & functional partners / stakeholders to drive the origination sales agenda with clients
• Promote the SCB brand and exemplify the values of the Group in all undertakings, including adherence to the Group Code of Conduct.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies and procedures, for e.g. Cash Pricing Policy, Deal Review Policy, Gifts & Entertainment Policy, etc.
• Meeting group standard for audit, control and financial reporting.
• Establish and implement competitive pricing policies and tariff structures to maximise product profitability and shareholder value.
• Monitor competitor banks in markets of responsibility. Keep abreast of their new product offerings / service developments, assess the threat to our business and plan remedial action to maintain a competitive edge for SCB cash products.
• Create and maintain the product programme documents.
Skills and Experience
- Proven expertise in Cash Management, with a deep understanding of product lifecycle management and market positioning.
- Strong grasp of Liquidity Management and the associated balance sheet implications to successfully drive profitable growth.
- Working knowledge of back office systems architecture enabling alignment between product development and operational execution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders including clients, sales teams, and regulatory bodies.
- Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to anticipate market trends and proactively innovate.
- Highly organized and adept at managing multiple initiatives concurrently while meeting deadlines.
