Job Description: 

Job Summary

•    Responsible for designing and implementing seamless product frameworks to scale the solutions for Medium Enterprises globally 
•    Responsible for managing global TWC portfolio performance, governance and reporting. 
•    Responsible for managing performance of credit analyst organization and streamlining structure, process, roles and capabilities to optimize on quality and efficiency of ME credit approvals in ASA markets
•    Collaborate with Tech delivery, Credit risk, Fraud risk and Operations team to enhance the capabilities for efficient Client Relationship Management (CRM), Portfolio Monitoring and Management. 
•    Collaborate closely with SME heads, Product Heads, Credit Risk, Operations, Stressed asset team and Learning team to manage training needs of frontline staff.

Strategy
•    Ensure that lending solutions in ME Markets are relevant in the market and aligned to the Group SME strategy 
•    Benchmark our ME proposition against client needs and competition offerings, especially in key markets, to identify gaps and opportunities
•    Provide data driven analytics & insights to drive strategic discussions at the SME Management Team 
•    As Head of CA team ASA, provide leadership reinforcing commitment to CA structure and strong business focus. Provide oversight into the quality of credit analysis performed within the team. Be a mentor to the team, guiding them on career planning and progression and building a highly motivated team. 

Business
•    To partner both Coverage and Risk in ME Markets, supporting the former in developing and executing their client strategies and both teams in respect of credit analysis-relevant matters.   
•    Assess the effectiveness of product framework and ensure they are fit for growth 
•    Creating product and policy mix driven by client needs to offer seamless and easy solutions
•    Work closely with the country product and segment heads to deliver comprehensive solutions for trade, forex and Wealth needs

Key Responsibilities

Processes
•    Ensure that the approval, fulfillment and transaction processes are simple and streamlined and to client needs and calibrated to the risks involved. 
•    Develop a regular operating rhythm with stakeholders and appropriate governance framework to ensure that the portfolio shape and quality is in line with the strategy
•    To provide insightful, relevant, succinct and timely credit analysis of a portfolio of SCB’s clients (current or prospective  
•    Analysis to provide a forward-looking view of the likely business and financial risks and potential mitigations. It should provide holistic counterparty assessment on structural elements relevant to SCB exposure and while it should be granular, opinion needs to be in succinct manner for presentation.
•    Overall accountability for consistency and coherence of the complete BCA submitted to Risk will rest with Credit Analysis team 
•    Help group teams in driving the adoption and usage of digital capabilities

People & Talent
•    Participate actively in shaping the SME Learning agenda for SME frontline especially the ME RMs
•    Develop strong credit analyst capabilities for effective 1st line of defense and business enablement
•    Provide strong leadership to CA team ensuring independent, quality and timely credit analysis
•    Share best practices and lessons learnt to build institutional capabilities for scaling the business

Risk Management
•    Proactive monitoring of key entity or industry wide events and/or developments, as well as of covenants and risk triggers where applicable
•    Ensure infrastructure, processes, policies and control framework for SME Banking business is designed to appropriately and adequately manage the inherent risks in the product, keeping in mind that risk has multiple facets and goes beyond credit risk (e.g. operational risk, fraud risk, counterparty risk etc.)
•    Partnering Risk through clear presentation of credit analysis and proposed credit grading, as well as
through proactive and considered discussion of key risk aspects

Governance
•    Ensure that the overall risk and control framework in SME for is fit-for-purpose and working well within the risk appetite
•    Understand the regulatory and legal framework governing products in markets
•    Engage and present to Product Governance Committee and other relevant forums such as Risk Committee and other forums/committees as and when required
•    Manage the credit change process globally across teams when credit policy changes are enacted, analyse gaps and propose solutions that optimize execution.
•    Coordinate regional / global efforts to ensure compliance with BCA renewal policies, CaRT and other credit administration processes.

Our Ideal Candidate

•    15+ years of lending experience in Commercial or SME banking 
•    Deep understanding of Trade and Working Capital products in a Product Management, Relationship management, Credit Risk or Stressed Asset Management role
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Proven ability to effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
•    Proactive and positive with the ability to use independent judgement and make sound decisions 
•    Excellent written & oral communication skills

 

Role Specific Technical Competencies

•    Deep understanding of Trade and Working products
•    Risk mindset with an understanding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework
•    Exposure to SME/mid-market clients and their unique requirements is desirable, but not mandatory 
•    Appreciation for market specific nuances
