Job Summary
As a Junior Relationship Manager you will play a critical role in supporting the Senior Relationship Managers in managing strategic client relationships across our European client portfolio of Banks, Broker Dealers, and Fintechs. Additionally, you will independently manage your own portfolio of smaller clients. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to grow into a strategic client partner by driving client engagement, revenue generation, and end-to-end relationship management while maintaining the highest risk and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and execute the global business strategy together with Senior Relationship Managers, translating it into actionable client-level plans.
- Manage a defined client portfolio, contributing to account planning and strategic initiatives.
- Support client engagement across senior and C-suite levels, positioning Standard Chartered as a trusted advisor.
- Originate new business opportunities by leveraging our institutional offerings across our products, including e.g. Financial Markets, DCM, Payments & Trade Finance as well as Securities Services
- Identify cross-sell opportunities across multiple product lines and coordinate with internal product partners.
- Ensure that all client interactions are aligned with internal policies and external regulations (AML, CDD, Credit).
- Maintain strong internal stakeholder relationships (Credit, Legal, Compliance, Risk).
Skills and Experience
Core Competencies:
- Prior experience in client relationship management / coverage or in a Sales role in Financial Markets/DCM or Transaction Banking covering Financial Institutions
- Knowledge of Institutional Clients (Banks, Broker Dealers, Fintechs)
- Financial Crime Risk & Credit Awareness
- Client Prospecting & Opportunity Development
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Solid understanding of Financial Markets and/or Transaction Banking Products
- Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance standards within banking
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance or a related field
- Fluent in English and German (written and verbal)
