Job Summary
As the Associate Director of FCC, you will be a critical guardian of the bank’s integrity, specifically focusing on the evolution and execution of Know Your Customer (KYC) and Client Due Diligence (CDD) frameworks. This role carries a high-impact mandate to navigate the frontier of financial crime, with a specialized focus on FinTech, Crypto Asset Service Providers (CASPs), and New Payment Methods (NPM).
You will bridge the gap between global policy and local German regulatory expectations, serving as a key architect in the transition toward the new EU-AML legislative package.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary advisor for the SCB AG client portfolio, with a dedicated focus on the onboarding of FinTech and CASP (other NPM – New Payment Method) clients.
- Support the preparation and implementation of the new EU-AML legislative package, ensuring the bank is ahead of the curve in regulatory transitions.
- Handling the process for CDD exemptions (CSE/BRE), high-risk client approvals, and deferrals.
- Execute specialized FCC processes for FinTech/CASP sectors, including PSES feedback, underlying customer risk assessments, and challenging first-line (1LoD) submissions.
- Support the first-line (1LoD) in the onboarding process of new FinTech/CASP sector clients.
- Support the maintenance and further development of CDD policies, standards and DOIs, especially on the FinTech and CASP related topics ensuring they remain aligned with evolving regulations.
- Support the topics of payment transparency (travel rule) and transaction monitoring related to FinTech and CASP.
- Support the local FCC Risk Assessment (GRA) and Obligations Register, while performing rigorous controls over the client portfolio status.
- Maintain close contact with Group stakeholders and first-line Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to harmonize compliance goals with business growth.
Skills and Experience
Educational & Professional Background:
- Academic: Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Law or Business.
- Certification: Professional certification such as CAMS or ICA (CCP) is highly preferred.
Experience:
- Proven track record in Financial Crime Compliance (AML/Sanctions) with a deep understanding of the German regulatory environment.
- Deep experience with German financial crime regulations and a strong background in Digital Assets (CASP) and FinTech compliance.
Technical & Soft Skills:
- Analytical Rigor: Exceptional ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable reports.
- Communication: Dual-fluency in German (Native level) and English is essential for navigating local requirements and global reporting lines.
- Independence: A self-starter capable of managing high-pressure remediation initiatives and Business-as-Usual (BAU) tasks in an international matrix organization.
