Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic G10 Rates and FX Trader to join our Global Markets team and help expand our presence in the G10 space with a focus on Rates trading. The successful candidate will be responsible for market-making, risk management, and risk taking in G10 interest rate and foreign exchange products. This role requires deep knowledge of macroeconomic drivers, strong technical and execution skills, and the ability to manage risk across multiple currencies and instruments in fast-moving markets.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Assist in developing and implementing trading strategy for the desk
•    Maximise total product income by ensuring effective end to end client risk management/service 
•    To grow the G10 Rates franchise in the Europe 
•    Optimise processes to increase efficiency
•    Awareness and understanding of the Group's business strategy and model appropriate to the role 
•    Assist the automation of product offering to Clients 

Business
•    Achieving assigned full year budget as per annual P3 
•    To increase SCB's visibility through competitive pricing in G10 Rates Products for our clients during London and the New York time zone 
•    To deepen existing client relationships through regular conversations and by giving market colour To work with Sales and RMs to identify new prospects and client opportunities 
•    Provide sales desk with competitive pricing and product support in our endeavour to out serve 
•    To explore new products and structures to increase the breadth and depth of the market 
•    Manage risk from client trades 
•    To support the Global FM team by showing axes to Sales Teams and giving market colour 

Processes
•    Ensure adherence to all internal and external regulations. To embed Operational Risk monitoring as an integral part of the business process. Towards this, to effectively carry out the assigned role, if any, under Compliance Risk Management and Operational Risk Management Assurance. Ensure that the business meets its obligations the prevention of money laundering under the Group Policy and Standards and under local laws and regulations. Ensure that there are appropriate and documented internal controls and procedures in place. Monitor the operation of such procedures and controls and regularly review them to ensure that they reflect any changes in products, systems, policy and regulations 

Qualifications

Min 5-10 years of experience trading G10 rates and/or FX at a major financial institution.

 

Proven track record of risk-taking and P&L generation.

 

Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.

 

Expertise and appetite to build a sustainable franchise business.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Experience in both developed and emerging markets FX/rates is a plus.

 

Familiarity with electronic trading platforms and algorithmic strategies.

 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, physics, is similar quantitative field.
