Title: Associate Principal, Treasury Markets

Job Summary
As an Associate Principal in Treasury Markets, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing the bank’s funding strategy to secure optimal results. Furthermore, you will lead sophisticated forecasting initiatives to meticulously design cash flow and liquidity management plans aligned with the bank’s short- and medium-term objectives, proactively addressing anticipated surpluses or deficits. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of the banking liquidity landscape, the ability to anticipate market trends, and the rigor to sustain a curve that precisely represents the bank's marginal cost of liquidity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Bank’s liquidity positions across all the currencies and money market trading activities to ensure that the structural integrity of the B/S remains well protected.
- Monitor and manage the Bank’s investment portfolio—including Government securities, interbank and intragroup local & foreign currency placements—by investing at the most profitable rates, ensuring effective liquidity and interest rate risk management, and strictly overseeing counterparty and trading limits.
- Advise the Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO) on market liquidity & interest rate trends, and other balance sheet management issues critical for informed decision making.
- Forecasting the Bank's fund requirements through prudent cash-flow preparation and maintaining a seven-day horizon forecast of future funding and assets needs to avoid unpleasant surprises.
- Provide accurate, timely product pricing to business functions, ensuring deposit and funding rates remain competitive to meet customer needs
- Share relevant market, customer, and counterparty insights across the SCB network to maximize networking benefits.
- Optimize business outcomes by fully leveraging available resources, including information technology systems and collaboration with various bank units, to drive continuous development and superior financial performance while maintaining stringent control standardsStrengthen the Bank’s position as a leading player in both primary and secondary trading of Fixed Income securities.

- Adhere strictly to Treasury-Markets Botswana controls for Trade Initiation, Execution, and Capture, as well as Liquidity and Investment Management processes
- Identify, assess, monitor, control, and mitigate risks affecting the Treasury-Markets Desk and Business Unit.
Skills & Experience
- Financial Services industry and regulatory experience.
- Market Evaluation and Forecasting

- Understanding of Financial Regulations

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- ACI Dealing Certificate, CFA will be an added advantage
