Job Summary
The job holder is responsible for driving business performance, growth, strategic direction, governance, risk and talent management for GIFT CITY- a branch of Standard Chartered Bank, UK. This involves working closely with the GIFT CITY Board and other stakeholders in driving the company.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Articulate strategy for GIFT City
• Look for new avenues of business, diversify across client segments and industries
• As a business head represent in the OGMG / ALCO / Risk committees
• Build a strong business through GIFT City by offering a suite of products in line with the overall agreed business strategy
Business
• Accountable for achieving top line revenue goals in line with agreed targets
• Manage and drive GIFT CITY financial performance; accurate forecasting; managing cost budget effectively
• Provide leadership in managing funding & liquidity requirements for GIFT CITY
• Streamline the process of doing business in GIFT CITY and improve coordination with stakeholders
• Represent GIFT CITY in front of Regulators, Clients, Auditors, External events as applicable
• Responsible for delivering 'effective governance'; capability to challenge fellow OU executives effectively; and willingness to work with them in an open and cooperative manner.
Processes
• Liaison with Risk, IT, Operations, Compliance etc to provide direction in streamlining processes in GIFT CITY
• Ensure seamless execution of deals
• Ensure to highlight any process gaps and suggest appropriate solutions
• Ensure OBL processes are maintained without any exceptions.
People & Talent
• To manage OBL team with appropriate oversight and Guidance.
• Embed a high-performance culture
• Ensure adherence to proper and professional conduct in the entity
Risk Management
• Role model and demonstrate right decisions for the franchise by balancing Risk/Compliance with Business
• Establish and maintain appropriate frameworks to ensure business functions in GIFT CITY comply with internal policies, procedures, codes and applicable external laws and regulations
• Gather critical mass of issues of material importance and escalate to Group / governance committees as appropriate
• In partnership with Credit, BORM and OR, complete on-going monitoring in line with OBL Governance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Bank policies and procedures as it relates to OBL activities
Governance
• Ensure appropriate governance processes and operational risk parameters are followed in GIFT CITY.
• Ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This includes compliance with local regulatory requirements, other applicable laws (e.g., laws governing securities activities, company law) and anti-money laundering regulations and guidelines)
• Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct and ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture
• Ensure all operational and policy requirements are met for all transactions
• Ensure work efficiency and no failed internal or external audits or operational risk findings related to OBL
• Ensure high standard and housekeeping of all approvals for all bookings and onboardings at OBL
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Ensure regulatory compliance requirements are covered for all deals booked in GIFT City OBL
• Highlight any compliance issue identified for escalation and work towards solutions
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
• This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct
• Lead the GIFT City Team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.]
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Qualifications
• Master’s degree in business management / finance or relevant
• Preferably 15+ years' experience in banking, understanding of SCB’s GIFT City strategy and business potential
• Languages: English and/or local language skills as relevant to country requirements
• Team and Stakeholder Management skills.
