Job Summary
• Standard Chartered Bank is seeking an experienced SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Generative AI Expert to join our technology team at Band 7 level. This role requires a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in SAP BTP development combined with expertise in Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Large Language Models (LLMs). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing AI-powered solutions within our SAP BTP ecosystem to drive digital transformation and enhance business processes across the bank.

Strategy

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing AI-powered solutions within our SAP BTP ecosystem to drive digital transformation and enhance business processes across the bank.
Business
• Coordinate with business analysts and internal customers to develop functional and technical specification documents
• Understand the business needs and their pain points and design a solution that addresses their needs.
• Since these roles deal with Analytical reporting, there will be a lot of collaboration with business teams, so communication has to be clear and to the point.
• Ensure that all documentation, processes, and methodologies used in the various phases of system development and implementation is in accordance with the Group’s standards.
• Possess sound communications skills.
• Perform analysis of the current state, and future state requirements. Provide solution options, along with high level estimates, impact assessments and technology recommendations.
• Create well-written and elaborated epics, stories and sub-tasks which can be reviewed by the business and utilized by the development and testing for implementation.
• Highlight project risks, suggest how they might be mitigated.

• Ensure the solution is aligned with bank’s ICS controls.
• Taking part in review forums such as ARF, FTC,sTK and CCH and ensure the solution is in line with the standards defined in these forums.

• Should conduct regular status call and share status reports with team management. Collect requirements from business team and analyze it and propose right solution business
• Identifies and recommends new technology or practices that will add value to the organization in terms of performance and cost.

SAP BTP AI Development:
• Design and implement Generative AI solutions using SAP BTP AI Core, AI Foundation, and Business AI services
• Develop AI-powered applications integrated with SAP Datasphere, HANA Cloud, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
• Build intelligent automation solutions using SAP Build, SAP Integration Suite, and SAP Extension Suite
• Implement AI-driven analytics and insights within SAP BTP reporting frameworks
• Create AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants using SAP Conversational AI
Technical Architecture & Integration:
• Architect scalable AI solutions on SAP BTP that integrate with existing SAP landscape (S/4HANA, ECC, SuccessFactors)
• Implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems for SAP knowledge management
• Develop custom AI extensions and applications using SAP BTP development tools
• Integrate external AI services (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google AI) with SAP BTP environments
• Design and implement AI model lifecycle management within SAP BTP
AI Model Development & Deployment:
• Develop and deploy LLM-based applications using SAP AI Core and external AI platforms
• Implement prompt engineering and fine-tuning strategies for banking-specific use cases
• Build AI-powered document processing and intelligent data extraction solutions
• Create automated testing frameworks for AI models and applications
• Implement responsible AI practices including bias detection, explainability, and governance
Collaboration & Leadership:
• Lead cross-functional teams in AI project delivery within SAP BTP environment
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify AI opportunities within SAP processes
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to AI development best practices
• Support solution architecture reviews and technical design decisions
Required Qualifications
Experience:
• Minimum 8 years of experience in SAP development and implementation
• At least 4-5 years of hands-on experience with SAP BTP platform and services
• Minimum 3-4 years of experience with Generative AI, LLMs, and Machine Learning
• Proven experience in end-to-end AI project delivery within enterprise environments
• Banking or financial services domain experience strongly preferred
