Job Summary

This Senior cloud engineer role for the global cloud engineering requires the individual to lead the development, implementation and maintenance of global cloud platform for SCB. They collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure platform reliability, availability and security are consistent with SCB standards across multiple cloud service providers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
• Implement/Design/Maintain a state-of-the-art platform to enable our customers to gain a faster time to market
• Provide technical design expertise to internal engineering teams.
• Develop solutions that are secure, scalable, innovative and practical to implement and is fully consistent with the Bank audit and compliance requirements and in line with the design ethos and technical requirements of the external cloud providers.
• Introduce and support emerging technology and best market practices to ensure consistent and state of the art systems are built, and business achieves enhanced benefits.
Business
• Engage with senior business and technology stakeholders to understand the priorities and align cloud initiatives and organizational goals.
• Take end-to-end ownership of developing, maintaining, and scaling the Cloud modules and patterns. Drive continuous improvement of Cloud solutions, based on feedback and business needs.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for cloud initiatives, such as deployment efficiency, cost savings, and user satisfaction.
• Master effective communication and act as the interface between Customers and Development Teams

• Have awareness of and understand the relevant regulation for the markets in which the bank operates such as sovereignty and resilience.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Chartered governance frameworks and challenge them where appropriate.
• Keep program management teams in-tune with statuses and risks during change delivery.

• The team of talented engineers has it drilled into them that their success also pivots on the ability for other engineers to deploy workloads on the cloud platform easily and seamlessly.
• Be an inspiration to other engineers attracting and developing new talent to the organisation and managing poor performers.
• Keep a list of practical yet challenging objectives and measures for the team and individuals to target.
Risk Management
• Comply with organisation risk management framework.
• Partner with CIO application engineering teams to reduce risk and prevent manual solutions.
• Work closely with risk counterparts across technology, cyber and other areas for safe deployment of workloads to cloud
Governance
• Ensure the value determination & realizations for workload migrations to cloud.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable SC governance frameworks.
• Adhere to and optimise cloud governance frameworks and processes.
• Stay aware of changing regulatory landscape so that we can proactively manage the emerging requirements for workloads.
• Ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This includes compliance with local banking laws and anti-money laundering regulations and guidelines.

o Colleagues approach to risk, control and Conduct was considered when making Total Variable Compensation (TVC) proposals during year-end review.
o Responsibility for recognizing and providing positive feedback through feedback 365 channels and Going the Extra Mile (GEM) award.
