Job Summary
The Head of AI Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of AI technologies within the organization. This role will lead a team of AI engineers and data scientists, ensuring the standardization of AI applications, and establishing workflows and frameworks for AI deployment and testing. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AI, machine learning, software engineering and design patterns along with strong leadership and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
• AI Solutions Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of AI engineers and software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Drive the development of AI solutions that align with the company's strategic goals.
• Standardized AI Models Onboarding: Develop and implement processes for the standardized onboarding of AI models, ensuring consistency and efficiency across projects. Create and maintain a comprehensive toolkit for model development, enabling efficient and standardized workflows for AI engineers.
• Data Science Workflow Standardization: Create and enforce standardized workflows for data science projects.
• Testing Framework: Oversee platform testing to ensure seamless end-user flows and high-quality user experiences. Design and maintain a comprehensive deployment testing framework to evaluate model serving, throughput, and performance. Also establish frameworks for model testing that focus on explainability, bias, ethics, and robustness, ensuring that models are reliable and fair.
• Model Error Testing and Automation: Implement automated testing procedures to validate model performance and identify errors, continuously improving model accuracy and reliability.
• AI Metrics and Observability: Define and monitor key AI metrics, establishing observability practices to track model performance and health in production environments.
• LLM Routers and Guardrails: Develop and manage large language model (LLM) routers and guardrails to ensure safe and effective AI interactions.
• AI design patterns: Develop and maintain AI patterns (predictive ML, statistical modelling, agentic workflows, LLMs, RAG-LLMS).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to integrate AI solution.
Qualifications
• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a senior AI engineering role, with a track record of successfully leading AI teams and projects.
• Deep understanding of AI, machine learning, and data science principles and technologies.
• Experience with standardized model onboarding, deployment, and testing frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of model explainability, bias, ethics, and robustness.
• Proficiency in AI metrics, observability, and model optimization techniques.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Passion for innovation and staying updated with the latest advancements in AI technology.
