Job Title Here Experience Director

Title: Lead Business Analyst, FM Ref. & Market Data
Guangzhou, CN
Job Summary
The role sits in the Standard Charted Financial Markets Risk Technology team focusing on the build out of the in-house strategic cross asset risk platform: SABRE. It consists in designing and delivering solutions to the users of this platform with a focus on Market, Static and Reference data management.
The market, static and reference data component of the SABRE platform (MDS) supports ~600+ million requests per day, with close to 3000 users worldwide and is a critical component of the FM Risk platform. It’s also an enabler for all major projects: Basel-IV, Trading Book Wind Down, FRTB, capital efficiency, key systems migrations and more. The core MDS team is made of ~30 people and delivers to all functions, FM Front Office, Middle Office, Traded Risk, Valuation Control, Product Control, Technology and Back Office. It covers all asset classes; FX, Rates, Credit, EQ and Commodities; and XVA.
The role focusses on enabling new business and regulatory initiatives, supporting ongoing enhancements for onboarded products, providing level 3 functional support on MDS, delivering production bug-fixes and supporting keep-the-lights-on (KTLO) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and understand users’ needs. Challenge status quo and the reflex of solutioning rather than focusing on the core requirement or perpetuating old processes and bad habits.
- Design and propose optimal and future proof solutions to meet these requirements.
- Define and articulate unambiguous implementation instructions for the development teams, success criteria for the test team and operational changes (when applicable) for end users.
- Assist the business with user acceptance tests, including communication, planning, preparation, and execution.
- Be an active member of the scrum team, contributing to the solution build and delivery, reviewing, and facilitating test automation, closing out open issues/questions, assisting with sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Be delivery focused, committed to specific tasks, and ensure these and the deadlines are met.
- Ensure solutions proposed and delivered do not compromise production stability.
- Adherence to the SABRE Agile Manifesto in all deliveries.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of the FM ecosystem, key business processes front-to-back and trading systems.
- Strong knowledge of at least one asset class encompassing product, trade life cycle, pricing and risk.
- Agile/Hybrid delivery experience and mindset is highly preferred.
- Good working knowledge of SQL to query large and complex datasets.
- Understanding of reference and market data and its role in derivative / security pricing and risk. Exposure to market data vendor systems such as Bloomberg and Refinitiv is a plus.
- Self-starter, strong communicator, and collaborator
