Job Summary

The role sits in the Standard Charted Financial Markets Trade Management team focusing on the build out of the in-house strategic cross asset risk platform: SABRE (Standard Chartered Analytics Booking and Risk Engine), which is the bank’s strategic platform for trade processing, valuation and market. It consists in designing and delivering solutions to the users of this platform with an initial focus onboarding new products, driving enhancement solutions, planning project timelines and working with multiple stakeholders such as users and developers to achieve desired outcome.

 

As the main focus of the role is on the Trade Data Store (TDS2), experience in trade booking, lifecycling and how a trade prices using static or market data is preferable. This would also require basic understanding of the financial products booked in the trades, with emphasis on FX (swaps, forwards, NDFs, etc) and IR products (eg. Repo and bonds). The role will be required to provide third-level business support for issues in trade replication, and also project enhancements for Front Office traders’ requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Front Office traders in ensuring accuracy in their trade risk and PNL
  • Support Middle Office in ensuring trade controls and reconciliations are in place
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • Traders, quantitative analysts, middle office, operations, market risk, finance, developers, testers, project managers, support groups

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years’ experience with business analysis, solution design and end-to-end delivery in the Financial Markets industry
  • Strong knowledge of derivatives across asset classes encompassing product knowledge, pricing, risk analytics and trade life cycle
  • Some technical background in analyzing or reviewing code changes would be preferable
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile development practices
  • Ability to work proactively, independently and displays strong initiative.
  • Meticulous and upkeep documentation of project artifacts, discussions, risks, functional specifications
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with an excellent standard of English are a must.
