Title: Storage Engineer - NAS

Job Summary
Processes
• Ensure the team always follows operational best practices. Ensure the highest levels of ownership, accountability and service are maintained within the team.
• Review, uphold and enforce all Bank technical, security, quality, and engineering standards on supported assets.
• Ensure compliance with Bank ITSM processes such as Incident, Change and Problem Management.
• Identify and implement service improvements that will include, but not be limited to, improving service level delivery; remediating process gaps; using automation to reduce turnaround times; improving the customer experience; reducing cost; improving risk exposure; and optimising the monitoring infrastructure.
• Perform periodic capacity and performance reporting of the NAS storage infrastructure, and present key findings and recommendations.
Risk Management
• Proactively identify risks and issues or react to them in a timely manner to minimise any potential impact. Create and implement remediate plans to resolve any non-compliance.
• Support auditory, regulatory and risk and compliance initiatives that contain deliverables related to the storage and backup service.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as the technical lead on initiatives and projects and take accountability for their delivery.
• Act as a NAS subject matter expert, providing strong guidance and direction in all aspects of NAS design and support, asserting one’s technical authority to reach successful outcomes.
• In-depth technical knowledge of NAS and the NetApp product suite and technologies.
• Ensure the global NAS estate is available, performant, stable and resilient, and delivers to expected service levels.
• Harness automation technologies wherever possible to simplify and increase efficiencies.
• Work closely with peers in the Storage and Backup Team to engineer solutions, develop designs, new products, standards and roadmaps.
• Perform ad-hoc capacity and performance sizing exercises, demonstrating sound judgement, and giving coherent and presentable recommendations with clearly defined outcomes.
Skills and Experience
• Familiar with NetApp
• Strong in NetApp hardware knowledge and troubleshooting
• Hands on Scripting: Python and SQL is a plus
