Job Summary
• The HR Advisor, Generalist will deliver impactful advisory services through critical interactions with People Leaders and colleagues across a range of topics, including enabling new people leaders to understand and fulfil their role and responsibilities, enabling effective continuous performance and talent management through development conversations and interacting with Accelerate Talent and their People Leaders to deliver a differentiated career experience.
• The role holder will work directly with people leaders and colleagues to understand the root cause of the people challenge presented and suggest the most appropriate course of action to address. The role holder will work flexibly across different types of people leader interactions as required.
Key Responsibilities
HR Advisory
• Respond to People Leaders requests for support in line with specific advisory services, including enabling effective development conversations.
• Coach and develop people leaders to reinforce the expected role of People Leaders in enabling a high-performance culture and building people leader capabilities through interactions across the geographical cluster, meaning that colleagues benefit from an enhanced experience.
• Proactively identify and escalate recurring people challenges across the cluster for discussion with Senior HR Advisors and HR Advisory cluster lead, for example areas which require specific policy or communication initiatives to better support people leaders.
• Support delivery of a differentiated career experience for Accelerate talent participants, engaging in targeted conversations to agree career actions.
People Priorities Delivery
• Support in driving and delivering people agenda related projects basis their interaction with Business Leaders / People Leaders for implementation of agreed actions.
• Ensure global performance and measurement requirements are fulfilled to support business deliverables.
Employee Relations
• Lead the diagnosis and resolution of issues with lower complexity and risk related to policy or culture concerns / violations and incident or threat response independently or by collaborating with Managers and ER specialist as appropriate; recommends solutions to address issues based on established principles, policies, and guidelines, while prioritising employee experience to maintain a safe and professional work environment.
• Conducts one on one coaching/ consulting with people leaders on performance management and development related processes based on established process and policies.
Capability Building
• Partner with Senior HR Advisor and HRBP on key project processes such as OD reviews, restructuring and Target Operating Model (TOM) implementation, and People Plan items to ensure all the process steps have been considered and are effectively implemented.
• Support People Leaders to ensure simple, effective and client-focused implementation of key HR processes (e.g., Talent Management, succession planning, Year End)
• Preparing and analysing HR dashboards to proactively highlight and mitigate areas of concern as well as identify focus areas such as attrition, headcount, and productivity.
• Performing periodic submissions of workforce insights to key forums ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
HR Projects and Programme
• Drives the execution, implementation and/ or operational of scalable HR programmes.
• Acts as liaison to collaborate with Centre of Excellence (CoE) and Business/ Cluster.
• Leverage, aligns and integrates communication strategies and messages from Centre of Excellence (CoE) and customises according to Business/ Cluster requirement.
Governance
• Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct as it relates to the role remit to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees’ form part of the culture of India.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Risk Management
• Highlight thematic risk & control responses within the country/ cluster as part of the global process.
Queue Management
• In partnership with Global People Service (GPS) ensures people leader advisory queries are managed accordingly and those that relate to shared services are sent back to GPS for further action and share feedback/ suggestions to GPS teams regarding use and continued improvement of tools and resources.
