Job Summary
• The Head, Post-trade US Operations is responsible for leading US-aligned Post Trade Operations activities delivered from GBS India and Malaysia. The role is accountable for ensuring strong service delivery, control execution and issue management across US market hours, products, clients and legal entity requirements.
• This role acts as the senior operations lead for US post-trade support delivered from the GBS locations. The successful candidate will ensure that US stakeholders receive reliable support, clear escalation, timely issue resolution and transparent reporting. They will also ensure that hand-offs between regions are well controlled and that urgent issues are managed with speed and proper ownership.
• The role holder will work closely with US Business, COO teams, Trading, Sales, Middle Office, Product Operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Technology and global Post Trade function heads. They will be expected to understand US market priorities, manage service risks, reduce repeat issues and ensure that global standards are applied effectively to US activity.
• This role requires a confident leader who can operate across time zones, manage senior stakeholders and lead teams under pressure. The candidate must be able to balance service urgency with control discipline, ensuring that US post-trade operations are dependable, well governed and ready to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
• Define and execute the US Post Trade Operations delivery strategy across GBS India and Malaysia.
• Build a resilient coverage model aligned to US market hours, business priorities, regulatory expectations and follow-the-sun hand-offs.
• Drive consistency between global functional standards and US-specific operational requirements.
• Support strategic initiatives for simplification, control uplift, location strategy and digital enablement.
Business
• Act as the senior operations partner for US-aligned post-trade stakeholders.
• Ensure effective support for US Markets activity across settlements, confirmations, fees, client data, controls and exception management.
• Partner with US Business, COO, Middle Office, Product Operations and legal entity teams to resolve issues and support growth.
• Provide transparent service performance, risk themes and improvement actions to senior stakeholders.
Processes
• Own US-aligned operating processes delivered from GBS India and Malaysia, including hand-offs, escalations, service levels and issue management.
• Standardise procedures and ensure clarity of ownership between global functions, regional teams and US stakeholders.
• Strengthen controls over time-zone hand-offs, market deadlines, urgent exceptions and client-impacting issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in service delivery and operational resilience.
People & Talent
• Lead a US-aligned operations team with strong product, market, control and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Build depth in US market knowledge, escalation discipline and cross-functional problem solving.
• Promote a culture of ownership, responsiveness and front-to-back accountability.
• Develop succession, cross-training and talent mobility across Post Trade Operations.
Risk Management
• Own the US post-trade delivery risk profile across GBS-serviced activities.
• Ensure timely identification, escalation and remediation of operational risks, incidents, client-impacting issues and control gaps.
• Monitor KRIs linked to aged exceptions, settlement risk, confirmation delays, service breaches and hand-off failures.
• Partner with US risk, compliance and operations stakeholders on assurance and remediation.
Governance
• Establish effective governance over US service delivery, risk issues, incidents, transformation and stakeholder feedback.
• Provide regular MI to Post Trade Operations leadership, US stakeholders and relevant governance forums.
• Ensure adherence to Group policies, US-specific requirements and operational risk standards.
• Maintain clear accountability across global functional lines and regional execution teams.
Transformation
• Lead transformation initiatives that improve US post-trade service resilience, automation, reporting and control effectiveness.
• Partner with Technology and function heads to automate manual hand-offs, improve exception visibility and strengthen workflow.
• Use data analytics to identify recurring US service issues and drive sustainable fixes.

Qualifications
• University degree preferred, ideally in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Operations, Technology, Data, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong experience in Global Markets Operations, Post Trade Operations, Middle Office, Confirmations, Confirmations, Reconciliations, Client Data, Fees, Controls, Risk Management, Change or Transformation.
• Proven experience leading large teams across multiple locations, preferably including GBS, offshore or regional hub environments.
• Strong understanding of Global Markets products, trade lifecycle, post-trade processes, legal entity requirements and operational risk.
• Demonstrated track record in strengthening controls, improving service delivery, resolving complex issues and leading sustainable change.
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders across Front Office, COO, Finance, Product Control, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Audit and country teams.
• Ability to operate in a high-volume, time-sensitive and risk-sensitive environment with strong judgement and clear escalation discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Proven senior leadership experience managing large or complex global functions with direct accountability for risk, people, performance and transformation.
